I read it somewhere lower tie bar doesn't work for 8th gen long time ago. I forgot why but the reason is really obvious. Something about the suspension design.

Don't purchase this item. I purchased one a long time back, for my 97 Corolla and it didn't fit. I even informed the guy who was selling them and he just blew me off and I basically got stuck with a piece of sh**. So take my advice and don't buy it. Even though the 97 and 98+ Corolla look different, the suspension is the same in the rear and front.

i'd be caucious, I mean 8 bux is like nothing but you will not get CF for this price. Its just a steel or aluminum rod wrapped in CF pattern printed vinyl.

I just recently bought one for my 96, and it did not fit at all. The bar is too long and the two holes are too small. Do not buy this item. I did however bought one for the upper front from the same guy, and it fit good, and it made a difference. It isn't real carbon fiber, the bar itself is made from aluminum or steel. The upper front one did make a difference in terms of handling.
