Its not the prettiest of skylines but it is a skyline!!!

Idk trying to consider if i would buy it, if i had the money. It could be restored nicely.

(still looking at the wrx rollatuner?) We should start calling each other by our first names. I feel cheesy saying rolla tuner. I'm Andrei but ppl call me Andy.

lol ok. Well because of u'r bad influence i would now consider buying a Subaru WRX(new gen) BUT ONLY, if i had a family. The hatch's design has finally grown on me. But i'd still like an evo at my current maturity level.

anyone can import a skyline but to make it legal is a whole other issue. Also Motorex was the only company at the time that could legally import cars and sell it in the US until they went down. Skyline King can import but they can't legally say it will be legal in the US.

RHD cars are perfectly legal to drive in the US.

Legalization is not that hard if you know the right people. I have a buddy with a RHD EG6 and another with a RHD GC8, both are registered, issued a US VIN, has a california DMV issued license plate, and are legal to drive on public roads in california and the rest of the United States. It is easier if the car has a counterpart in the US market but the R33 can still be legalized because it have been crash tested by a company that was hired by motorex. All the documentation are on file with DOT so pretty much any company or individual with the right amout of knowledge can legalize one.

I thought Motorex were the only ones able to import and convert Skylines for US roads.

Like I thought. SkylineKing sells them as they are. They don't convert them to left hand drive for US roads.

I think SkylineKing can import, but they don't convert them. But even I'm not sure. If someone can correct me, please do.

The only way to know for sure is the ask your local law enforcement and to check the laws.

RHD was not a industry standard back in the early part of the 20th centuary. Back then when cars were being imported from other part of the world you'd be able to see british imports with LHD on the same road. It has become a industry standard now but NHTSA/DOT never made it a federal law.

In the case of the Skyline a LHD conversion would be a horrible mistake for performance because you do not want the brake fluid/ power steering lines on the hot (turbo) side and nissan engineers offsetted the engine's weight on the left side for better weight distribution. Not even Motorex did this conversion in the legalization process, most of what they did were adding 5mph crash bars and emissions equipment.
