Engine Rev limiter for 96 ??

    they all do, you just don't know it because all these cars are automatic. Meaning they shift automatically when it reaches redline. The rev limiter prevents over-rev when shifting manually.

    Try this, put the car in neutral. then floor the gas, you'll hear the rev climb (and see it if you have a tach) and at about 6K you'll hear the engine start to modulate the revs. That's when it hits the rev limiter.

    Rev limiter for 96 ??

    I have a 1996 1.6L 3 speed automatic. Everyone tells me that modern car have rev limiters, not saying mine is modern, but I have driven year 2000+ cars and none seems to have rev limiters. (Tundra, Land Cruiser, Accord ). Is there even a rev limiter on my corolla? And what year corollas do have limiters?
