Different size wheels don't make it harder for the transmission. Oversized wheels can slow a car down, reduce your turning radius, and turn a simple 3 point turn into a multi point turn nightmare. LOL But 17s aren't that oversized. It may slow down a Corolla a bit, but the main concern is rubbing fenders.

i think the 17's are ok....it's lowered with tokico's and tein s. the only time i rub is when i have 3-4 people in the car. overall the ride is good.
in the pics the damage doesn't look that bad, but the other side was totally ripped.
it would be a mission to get it done. so i decided to get a new bumper, which is not made out of fiberglass. (duraflex)

Oh, I see. It's a flexible high impact urethane plastic. Nice! Those can really take a beating.

    Fixed car......

after an accident 2 weeks ago, i finally got the parts and had time to install them this weekend.
i would like to thank Mark for the Hood...and this is how it looks now.
i didn't change much, i bought the same front bumper again. and the hood that i got from mark needs to be painted. i wanted to wait because i had to install the hoodpins first, in case something went wrong with the hood.

Any disadvantages to the 17s. I heard its a lot harder on the transmission, for small cars like ours. But i think its the ideal size for looks.

    Lowered?
    Rubbing?

    I am looking at 16s.

ok guys....here are the pics from my car after the accident i just had.
i was trying to make a left turn at the light. when light turn to orange, i looked to teh front (3 lane road) and saw taht the first and middle lane cars were stopping already. that's when i made the left turn and next thing i remember i was sitting in teh front missing a sneaker from my feet, air bags deployed, head was bleeding.
ambulance came and brought me to ER. got some stitches on my scalp. doc said it's a nice cut, and really deep too. but luckily that's about it. no fracture to teh scalp what so ever. got the news later from my bro that i got an ticket. cop said that i was trying to beat the light. i think it's bullshit. cuz looking at the crash, the lady was going at a high speed. i think she was trying to beat the light. and i don't remember the cop asking me waht happened.

If you were in the intersection waiting for it clear up to turn left on the light, then you're not at fault for turning when it was yellow and turning red. If you weren't waiting for the light in the intersection and were at the line, it's your fault.
