    225/45/18s will they fit?

I'm currently running 215/35/18s with a +42 offset on a 2005 Corolla with a TRD drop and I'm wondering if I can run 225/45/18s with no problem. Is anyone out there running this set up?

i had 225-40-18's on my 9thgen but I went lower and went to 215-35. I think 45 series is too high

Thanks for the info man. I'm currently running on 215/35/18s but I want go with a bigger tire so I don't end up replacing rims all the time, when I hit a pothole or something. I did a search on Discount Tires website and it said the 225/40/18s were the largest 18" tire option. So with all that said, I guess I'll have t go with the 225/40/18s. Thanks tho.

I'm currently having problems registering with them. I have a screen name and password for there site, but I can't post anything. I contacted them two days ago and asked to have the registration email, which I never received the first time, sent to me again so that I could reply back and be registered. So now I'm just playing the waiting game.

ITS ALL ABOUT THE 8TH GENS!!!!

Love my corolla so much, only thing i like about the 9th gen is that its a bit more refined interior wise. Thats it though.
OH and the 5 stud wheels. I hate the severly limited choice of rims cause of 4 stud construction.

Man to tell you the truth, I really miss my 1997 Corolla. The body stance and size was great and with the 3stge from a JDM Caldina installed and a list of other upgrades I installed that would take forever to list, that thing could rip up the street and would run with modded Supras. That was until a dumb a** t-boned me at a red light. 476hp at the wheels, gone. Makes me cry at night. I'll load up some photo's of it when I find them again. I still have the engine and everything else I stripped from it before they crushed it. I'm planning on starting another corolla project with it.

I don't think the 9thgencorolla site is down either. I'm able to log on to it eveyday and view posts. But the problem I'm having is that I can't post anything, reply to anything, view certain things, and I can't use the search function. To tell you the truth, it's starting to piss me off a little. I did the whole registration thing and was told that an email would be sent to me, that would contain the instructions for completeing my registration. Well, as I stated earlier, I've yet to receive anything from them. I even gave them a different email address to send it to and vwalla, nothing. So, I guess I'll try it one more time and see if I get a response back.

    225/45/18s will rub.

    Suspension/Brakes
Package is 17 mm (0.7'') closer to suspension/brakes components. Make sure that you have enough room for that. If not, consider lower offset, narrower tires or using spacers.

    Fenders
Fenders Package will stick out 23 mm (0.9'') farther. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider narrower tires or higher offset.

    Wheelwells
Will fill out the wheelwell by extra 19 mm. Make sure that you have enough room under the fender. If not, consider lower profiles or smaller rims.

I think I'm just going to go with the 225/40/18 tires on my 18x7.5 rims. Like I stated before, I don't want to be replacing rims all the time when I hit a little pot hole with 215/35/18s. Also, the side wall and rim guard on the 215/35/18s I'm running with now sits about a 1/4'' back for the lip of the rim. I want something that will sit flush with the lip of the rim and not look like crap, which is how it looks now. The 225/40/18 tire is the biggest option that will fit on the Corolla according to Discount Tire's web site. Plus, the 225/40/18s are 0.1" (25.1)bigger in diameter then the original 195/65/15s (25.0) that the car came with, according the the tire size calculator found at http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html. So there shouldn't be and issue with rubbing, if I go with the 225/40/18s.

I thanks for the info you supplied before and I have no doubt that the 225/45/18s will rub on the 05 Corolla. I did a measurement with the 225/45/18s and they'll be rubbing against the spring supports on the front struts. So with that said, the 225/45/18s are not going on. But I did mearsure for the 225/40/18s and they fit with no rubbing issues. So once again thanks.
