    Thanks! But...

Thanks for all the comments, guys, good and bad. Of course, not everybody is going to like how someone personalizes their car, that's the whole point after all, no? To "personalize" it? I understand that a lot of the people on this board are into the "JDM" style of personal auto modification, but going that route would have meant keeping my car completely stock, he he! (Philosophical question: Hmmm, so which is the "real" JDM? My JDM car that's been modified away from JDM stock, or USDM cars that have been modified to resemble the stock JDM versions?)

Just an aside, all the body panels are still completely stock, meaning those are the exact same body panels that came on the car from the factory. Including the front and rear bumper. Well, okay, I'm actually lying a little; I did convert the headlights, hood, upper front grille, and upper front grille surround (the little piece between the grille+headlights and the bumper), from the 96-97 to the 98-99 versions.

[Legit] Thanks, bro, I'm in Indonesia but I lived in Atlanta for more than 10 years, just moved back about three years ago. Some of the more subtle differences between the JDM and USDM Rollas are difficult to make out. The JDM headlights, for example, have a very distinctive "bend" towards the top, and the JDM turn signals have an integrated "bump" that act as sidemarkers. The JDM taillight clusters are very obviously a different shape, and they don't come with reflectors in the side. The JDM grille, grille surround, and front bumper are all separate instead of one integrated assembly. The front and rear bumpers have very short overhangs compared with the USDM bumpers. The JDM cars come with factory emissions stickers in the lower right rear corner of the rear window. The radio antenna is on the other side of the car. The windshield wipers swing in the opposite direction. And so on and so forth...

[Spanky1] Thanks for the comment, bro, truth be told the two things I'm not really feeling about the car ARE the brakes and the emblems. The emblems were actually an attempt to stand out a little from the crowd; I mean, who's gonna notice your JDM emblems when EVERY CAR has them stock from the factory?!

As for the brakes, they were a bit of a mistake. The company that makes the spacers I'm running on the car as part of their marketing programme paints them Kawasaki Green, and when my car went into the bodyshop I actually asked them to paint the spacers aluminium gray to match the stock brakes. Instead, they painted the brakes green to match the spacers! When I blew up about it, they offered to paint everything back to alu-gray but it meant I had to stick my car back in the shop for another couple of days and by then I just wanted the car out and running. So blame my laziness, if anything, he he...

[tsburt] We did a quickie mix-'n-match session after the bodywork was done. Bronze was no good. Dark bronze was worse. Black didn't look too great either. Gunmetal, nope. Gold? Uh-uh. Polished looked only okay. White was the winning combination of the day. Any suggestions?
