    Wish us luck...

My family and I (minus my dad, who's going to stay here and work) are driving from Florida to New Hampshire..packing a trailer (furniture/etc) tomorrow, and leaving early Sunday morning. Any prayers for a safe drive would be appreciated.. :)

We should stop in VA and PA on the way up, and then hit NH for a week or so..then drive back. Hopefully nothing will break.. :p

I just got a call from him today, after we swapped the tranny and put the new clutch in, we found out his head gasket was gone. So today he just finished putting the engine back together and it's up and running! (On his MR2)

Made it back...after Dr. Tweak and I did the tranny (and starter), we found that the head gasket was bad. After my uncle and I did the head gasket (and intake/exhaust manifold gaskets..had the head cleaned and machined..3-angle valve job with new seals, etc)..we put it back together, refilled and bled the coolant system..and it started! We ran it for a while in the driveway..when we pulled out for the test drive, we heard a horrible clattering noise from under the timing belt cover. Apparently whoever changed the timing belt last didn't torque the bolt through the tensioner pulley, and the tensioner spring came loose and chewed the belt up. I ordered another belt..we installed it the next morning, and I left that afternoon (Tuesday). I stopped in PA Tuesday night..a motel in NC last night..and made it from the NC/SC border to Brooker FL (past Jacksonville) in six hours. :D

So..yeah. Pics of the car eventually.. :)
