you know, they should be able to, of course we dont promote it, but we all have done it, and i personally dont see any harm in going in a stright line on a open freeway doing a couple of pulls, now doin it in traffic and at dangerous speeds is takin it to another level

hahaha the Kills thread got closed down! I guess stock Corollas beating V6's with daisy chains of speed chips was just too much. Street racing should have stricter punishments no matter where you race, as long as it's on public roadways. Take it to the track, seriously.

I say yes, most people have at some time raced on the street. Yeah I know it's stupid but sometimes pride will take precedence over inteligence, I've done it (not often but when challenged, and the conditions are safe to give it a go, I have) I think some people need to get off their holier than thou high horses, and ease up. Besides, once they are posted they are just stories.

how is hating street racing a "holier than thou" attitude? it's illegal, don't do it - end of story.

trust me, we don't want your kind around ANY of the forums many of us frequent if that's your way of looking at it. hopefully you'll grow up eventually.

Street racing is as old as the car, it's not going to stop, and it's not going to go away just because you put yourself above it. When people work on and build cars for speed, a culture develops around them (the cars), people will race. Do I think it's smart? No I don't, can it be done smarter than what is publicized? Most definitely. For every 1 race you here about going badly there are hundreds that were simple, and safe(relatively speaking). And as for the all famous "take it to the track" argument, I think you fail to realize that not everyone has access to those kind of facilities, not everyone has a drag strip in their town, or even close enough to make it worth the drive to one. Racing is sensationalized by the media, and blown to proportions that are entirely unrealistic. Street racing has only in recent years come to the forefront of topics concerning cars, and drivers. (thanks in no small ammount to the horrible F&F series of movies.)

The nearest track to me is a 45+ min drive and no matter what you do to me on the road, I will not race you.

I don't like to get into my past but I will.

I used to street race all the time about 8 yrs ago, had a fast car and no brains (this was before F&F). Was out at a race one day, a buddy of mine was challenged to race, so he lined up, his girl was in the car as well, about halfway down the "track" something happened to his car. No sure what happened, he was doing 90+, but his car started swerving he ended up going off the road and hitting a tree on the passenger side.

The force of the impact wrapped the car around the tree and both where killed immediately, but instead of being bodies to bury, they where smears on a tree.

After the accident I sold my fast car, got a slower car and vowed to take racing to the track. I might mod my car for speed and looks but thats for my enjoyment and my enjoyment only.

Reason why I don't approve of Street Racing and I will delete any thread that is posted about your street kills.

It seems you 9thgen posters are inconsiderate and immature individuals. At least take into consideration the dangers and pain and suffering of innocents who have died and suffered. If you still stereotype street racing as glorious and still street race, don't street race in my area. I will most definitely notify the authorities and do anything in my power to get you off the street.

Really, inconsiderate and immature? I offer facts, and rational arguments, from you people I get sarcasm, ad hominem arguments, and arguments from personal emotion. Guess what none of these work in an actual debate on a subject. As for your story, I'm truly sorry for you, and your friends, but this does not prove your argument. Street racing does not cause accidents, there is a corelation. Corelation is not causation. I also find it very narrow of you to try to force your opinions on others, you are welcome to your opinion, but to attempt an entire community to fall into line with it is rediculous. As for stereotyping, you have successfully done that, by implying that anyone who races on municipal blacktop as opposed to a track on occasion is exactly like anyone else who does. That is an argument, it's logical, rational, and correctly formed, you may want to look into proper methods of debating.

have you considered we act this way for a reason? maybe because we have NO TOLERANCE WHATSOEVER for arguments supporting street racing...yank your head out of your posterior and consider that for a minute.

we've been fighting this bullshit for YEARS. i know i have no more energy for politeness when it comes to jackasses who insist that street racing is safe or OK in any way, shape or form. i've lost too many friends to street racing idiots who thought it was OK, and cool. i'm sick of burying my friends...UNDERSTOOD?

wait, no, you probably don't understand. you'll come back with some sort of argument saying your method of racing is safe. i won't believe it, and i'll consider you a fool for admitting you're an advocate of it. "'tis better to stay silent and let people think you're an idiot, than to open your mouth and prove them right." (paraphrased, but you get the gist)

furthermore, this forum isn't a democracy. if you don't like it, TAKE YOUR BUSINESS ELSEWHERE.
