Engine Gears grinding

    Gears grinding

    So i usually redline here and there to feel that torque and of course the intake. now when i shift into third, my gear grinds, this is only in third, the rest it just engage pretty smoothly. so what i do is, when i get out of second, i press the clutch, hold for the revss to drop down to 5K and then shift, then its ok, but if i do it best motoring style lol i hear thatloud clunk, what do you guys think it could be?

    my second gear used to do that. i prayed and it went away the next day. no joke.

    or... maybe i'm not talking about the same thing as you are, but at one point of my corolla ownership, i felt a little gear grind going into second at 5000rpm.

    Your synchros are shot. I had the same problem and I never redline.
