except its not what i wanted...i just wanted something that doesnt really give off too much light...i wanted it to just be visible at night...as like a cluster of led lights and on top of that, that link is for both 9006 and 9005 bulbs...which i dont need... ugh.

    LED brake lights

Can we custom fit LED lights for our brake lights? Is there such a thing? I like the brightness of LEDs....I was just stopped behind one of those and its almost blinding to stare at them at night. It also looks better, imo.

I wouldn't get either of them. The light output on LED headlight bulbs are far less than normal halogen bulbs. The same goes for replacement bulbs 3156s and 3157s for the parking and brake lights. I wouldn't go LED unless its the high intensity LEDs that they use in massive numbers like the ones from factory(i.e. Infinity, Lexus, Cadillac). I'm getting spare pair of taillights and I'm going to retrofit those same LEDs into the set and see what I'll get.

Sure, its bright but only for a certain distance. It can't match the output of a halogen more less an HID system.

actually, for the 9005 led bulb, i wasnt expecting bright light (i have my low beam hid for that)..i just wanted it more for decoration... i thought it would look cool if i had led dots (seen some on other cars)

as for brake light (not the rear signal because i dont wanna deal with the led flash unit crap or load resistors), i was gonna use the 3watt luxeon leds

    http://www.superbrightleds.com/specs/315x-xLX3.htm

the tail light bulb codes for the 8th is 3156/3157 not 1156/1157 at least according to sylvania's bulb specs for 2001 corolla's.

It should. It opens up once it's in the light housing. I've heard good things about them.

maybe. even folded, the diameter is 1-1/16" if the opening is anything smaller than that, it wont fit.

and its a bit expensive at 50 a pop

Check this site out. Its got everything you need. The LEDs are of higher quality and cheaper too.
    http://autolumination.com/
They offer spider lights too but only in 1156 and it only has 2 panels of LEDs.
I also found the Japanese site for spiderlites: http://www.spiderlite.jp/
This one seems to be more complete and has pics of intstalled lights.
Its too bad they won't fit in the 8th gens though.
Only these spiderlights will fit but they don't offer them for 3157 fittings.

Hey jcrwzr, since you have the gen2 euro taillights, can you measure the diameter the round taillight section of the brake light? And does the bulb sit directly in the center of it? These tri-point spider lights just might fit. I'm going to try customizing a set doing that.
