    Acquired TRD rear lip valences!

Thanks Dustin! I've already sanded, primered, and painted the left one which looks exactly like factory now. hehe I still need to do some bondo work with the damage on the right one. I finished sanding it and then proceeded to bondo it, but I can't find the hardener for the bondo... I want to install them so bad but them I'd only have the left one on. LOL
btw, claying the car right now and it sucks... It's already been 2 days and I'm not finished. LOL

Hey jcrwzr, you think you can bring some hardener for our next meet perhaps Thursday? If not then I'll have to buy another can of the stuff. Can you just buy the hardener by itself? btw is fiberglass bondo a little more flexible? I have some other sections to fix as well that might require a little flexibility. The normal bondo cracked like crazy.

yes. it's usually red and you mix it with the bondo before applying it. the more hardener you use the faster it hardens

    Nice! Glad you liked it.

@Jon: Hey men, sorry I wasn't able to take your call. I was swamped at work.:( I haven't gone to any mechanic here yet. My car *knock on wood* hasn't given me any problems. Were you able to find one?

It's almost impossible to get the thing smooth looking. I got the hole filled alright but it's damn impossible to get it looking right. I've tried dry sanding, wet sanding, wet primer sanding, and dry primer sanding.

Yeah, its a curved area although its just a minor curve, nothing serious. Its dipping, but I think it'll be ok. I used sever coats of primer to smooth it over so after I sand it, it should be smooth or smoother. I'll try another few coats of primer to fill the dip even more before I lay down the paint.

shoulda used fiberglass bondo , its a little more durable , and plastic like instead of clay or porcelin like . it sands smoother too . are you sanding on a curved area? whats it doing , is it dipping or pitting ?

as for the other fiberglass bondo , it is and isnt a little more flexible depends on how you mix it , it comes green w/ red hardener . if you mix it brown its gonna be really hard and durable , if you mix it more of a dark green color , it still holds some of its flexability. and is also pretty durable. it is hard though , so when you apply it try not to make big clumps , cause you will be sanding forever.:D also where a mask when sanding either.:D

wow. looks hella dope! how much you get them for?

i've looked into that m3 style lip spoiler but it looks like it is too long for the corolla trunk.

Thanks for the input! I like the style of the M3 lip spoiler but in the case of the 8th gen, I don't think it flows with the shape of the car. The trunk already has this little built in trunk lip(a hump) which then curves on down the back. The M3 spoiler would distract from that with its sharp edges. I like the TRD spoiler since it only emphasizes on the existing trunk lip. I would like to get one and mold it to the bumper so that it looks really smooth. The newer BMWs also have the similar stock lip on the trunk. If I can't find one(which I don't think I will), then I think I would get the stock LED spoiler. It's still sleek and it doesn't interfere with the stock lip section of the bumper.

haha it's full of dings, dents, and paint chips. Yeah, I did cut out the emblem. I used bondo to fill the hole and painted over it.
Yeah, I'm going to wait for a TRD spoiler or get something similar. I really don't want to drill.
This is the spoiler that is as close to the TRD as I can get. http://www.procarparts.com/store-de...e=onlinestoreDB
It looks like it would really accent the existing lip. I'm thinking of bondoing the lip together with the trunk to make a higher looking stock trunk.

haha thanks! I don't like the carbon fiber look on my car. It would distract the form of the lines of the car. Plus the color tones are off.

Well I need to get it first and then decide how it looks before I bondo or not. I'm painting it white no matter what. hehe Money's a bit tight right now though.
