I just replaced the Green 194's with Red ones. Its a easy and cheap mod and it looks a hell of alot better that the green. I just have to figure out how to get the center con' apart to change the ones in there. Oh ya and I wish it was an S. Its just a CE but I would love a black interior.

right , its safe , there little clamps , that have 2 bolt , 2 nuts , and 2 locking nuts. they can be used to raise or lower the vehicle height.
the metal brackets w/ slots cut in em' go around 2 coils and as you tighten the bolts , it clamps the spring coils together. its an old school hot rod secret , theyve been using them for years.

anyway , you can find them at advanced or discount auto parts for around $12 a set (2) . they are only meant to be temporary (1-2years it says on package) but all it says is replace or check thuroly* every 40,000 miles .

when i installed them , i had to take off the front wheel , put the caliper on an 8"x8" block of wood , and jack up the oppisite corner in the rear , to help get the spring compressed a little more . its that easy , i installed mine 15 min per side . just make sure when you clamp the coils , you bring them dirctly on top of each other (or snug them coil to coil), to avoid noise , and chances of the clamp moving , upon full compression of the spring . if you clamp the coils together tight , there is no chances of the spring clamping further (on those 2 coils) and allowing the clamp to move . remember there are about 5-6 coils on rolla springs , so you want to install these in the middle coils.

rally mode does sound better . however you put it , im in that mode , kinda . my front is lowered 2" to get rid of the 4" fender gap i had. thanks to the wonderful cheapo spring clamps.:D really does make handling not as stiff as it was , but it sure looks a lot better.

How did you lower your car again??? Clamps??? How do they work. Do you clamp 2 coils together to make it lower? And where do you find these?

Its sounds almost like cutting your springs but just a little bit better. Clamping means it has the same stock ride and spring constant.

    these are what i have:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Mr-G...sspagenameZWD1V

they come 2 to a package , and you have to put 2 on 1 spring , so you would need two packages to lower the front , and 4 packages to lower all 4 corners. there is no difference in ride quality.

sorry bout the pics , it was kinda hard to get the camera in the wheel well.

dont down something because you have no knowledge of it. if they were unsafe , the company would not be able to sell them. and they wouldnt still be around after 20 something years. :/

like i said , once you pull a wheel off , put a 8x8 block of wood , under your rotors , making sure not to bend your dush sheild , and jack up the opposite end of the car . this helps compress the spring , so the clamps go on with ease , once you get them threaded , its all down hill from there.

    example:

if putting clamp on front right , jack up rear left.
if putting clamp on front left , jack up rear right.
if putting clamp on rear right , jack up front left.
if putting clamp on rear left , jack up front right.

this will make it a lot easier to get the nuts started. i saw a lowering of about 2". make sure you chock what ever wheels you have on the ground while doing this front and rear.

good luck , and definitly , let us know.:D
