Insurance for a 90-93 celica all-trac is higher than the 2.5 RS is? Thats big year difference, i would think insurance would be cheaper for celica or same.

it's individualized by company, location, and the driver.

my insurance doesn't like sports cars. if i have a daily driver it will be fully insured, only because i can't afford to take a hit like that. the only reason i can afford to insure the 7 is by having liability on it.

    ya damned right it is.

hell...when i got the corolla i couldn't physically drive stick - burns on my arm were too painful to shift - so i couldn't make a choice about that, either.

i figure the rs with a 5spd should be a nice upgrade for a daily vehicle, and the AWD would make it fun in the snow.

trust me, i'd be letting you know first ;)

if i sell them, they're gonna go for $200 - that's the lowest i can go, as i'll be taking a hefty hit on them anyway

I hope you're kidding... 5000$ US for the swap? Local shop quoted me $3500 with the engine, transmission (under 50 000kms on them), all the fluids/belt changed and a 1 year warranty... the only thing not included would be a new clutch flywheel, but they aren't all THAT expensive... ohhh, and thats $3500 CDN!

98-01 Impreza 2.5 RS, as stated earlier in the post.

...but now, i'm reconsidering. i was tooling around online, and remembered that the Saab 9-2x Aero = WRX Wagon.

Saab = GM, as well...sooooooooo...for roundabouts $17k with my discount and all rebates, i might have a WRX wagon on my hands. :rule:

i'm going to Saab tomorrow to figure out the nitty gritty. if i can't afford it, there's a guy in Va with a 2000 Imp 2.5 RS 5spd, lightly modded, 35k miles, for $6500 - and someone i know wants to buy the corolla for my asking price. yeah...i'm liking this

good to hear things are working out. Considering some of the grief the corolla's given you it'll be nice to have a change. Not to mention something new to start modding
