I know the 7th gen corollas have a JDM grill that looks just like that. I got inspired by that and I want to replicate that. However the grill much have enough clearance to clear the bottom of the headlights in order to look properly. I've measured mine out and it works barely. I'm not sure about the 01-02 however.

Well. Today was a failure. I attempted to paint it to match the same color scheme as the above picture of the 7th gen. It looked horrible. The black section didn't look straight at any angle except from the front. A total failure. I repainted it white. Now my bumper is a total patch job mess. LOL I'll have to get it professionally repainted later. Any one know of a paint place in Ventura county?

    Oh that's sad. :(
I think you will have to cut the whole grill area out, sand the round edge flat, and put it back in order to make it looks right like 7thgen.

haha no sorry. I covered it up ASAP. I don't ever want to humiliate my car like that again. LOL Even if you cut it out and sanded it down it wouldn't look right. The center grill bulges out whereas the 7th gen sits flat. You would still have a bulge. It would be better to swap the 7th gen bumper onto the 8th gen. hahaha I think it looks better in one solid color. To each gen its own styling.

or you could just go with a no emblem grill. they look really good and any 5-year-old can make one. go get a stock grille, cut out the cross beams in it, then get a rotozip or something and chop out the circle that holds the emblem. after this, fill in the bottom hole with plastic and filler (bondo or fiberglass resin) and then sand it all down. looks really good

I've got the HVS and HGS. I want to get the Magnecore wires to complete it but they cost too much for how long they actually last.
