    Heliums + Toyo is great!
I have it with Toyo T1-R on my 01, it runs 10x better than my old Subzero + cheapo korean brand tires.

Well considering you have a 5 lug pattern, Konig Heliums aren't available for you. I would suggest Volk Gram Lites. Scion tC wheels are nice but it seems like a lot of Corollas are running around on them. I'm not too fond of using wheels from another car.

I've always loved those rims. Didn't Konig have a wheel that looked exactly like them too? I think they were called Konig Burners. Its discontinued now though. Know of any place that would carry the wheel design? I'm thinking of a second set.

    Favorite Wheels / Tires

If anyone has any Wheels and Tires that have been great, please share.
I'm looking to replace the ugly steel 15s with a pair of nice, alloy 15s, and was wondering if anyone had recommendations for those.
Strong, and durable is more important than light and good-looking to me.

Also, tires to go with? brands? etc?

    Konig Helium
    15"
Super lightweight 10.6 lbs each wheel

Any of the Toyo tire line. Great tires for a good price.

Those TRD wheels - those come in a silver-ish?
I got the super-dark grey paint, so I want no white or black wheels.
    And... are the 15"?
I see only 18s on the TRD usa website.

Toyo sounds like the choice for tires.
Any good chains to do the mounting? I'm in MD but if anyone has had good experience at any kind of national tire place, recommendations would be <3.

Anything from RaysVolk, Work or Advan racing is good. (those TRD wheels are made by Rays Engineering in Japan.
As for tires; Azenis RT615, Kumho MX, Toyo T1S or RA1, Advan neova or A032R/A048

    Ey jspexae102,

It seems that you REALLY hate Rota's. Here's my .02, some of the real "JDM" brand wheels out there are subcontracted to Rota...;)

volk and rays bend easy in some conditions , good track wheels , but not for daily driving , where unexpected potholes take toll , as another member can say on this site about curbs.

im runnin 17" enkei j-10s w/ cheap ass nankang ns-1's. however when the package was shipped , the total weight was only 47.9 lbs. for all 4 wheels and tires , do the math , thats light for 17's !

as for tires my friend is runnin the nitto nt-01's on his 93 hatch civic , and it grips in the curves like crazy. azenis 615's are good too , been in a mustang coupe w/ these . also good. both are r compounds so go figure . good rule of thumb is the lower the tread wear number the stickier and shorter the life . a is good where aa is better.

i have a set of 17" gram lights 57pros. i love them. i agree with volks, advans, definitely SSR, but these are all on the expensive side. it all depends on your budget.

rays wheels bend easier than some other brands.. true.. but you really gotta hit it hard for it to bend. and if you are the type of person who may screw up a wheel like that, you shouldn't buy it in the first place. track use is great. lightweight and nice. But i see nothing bad with everyday use either. just don't do anything stupid.

Better bend than have a chunk break off or shatter; put under the same conditions the cheaper rim would suffer just as much or more damage. I've seen a rota autoX completely broken apart at the spokes, seen others where chunks have broken off the lip when someone hit a pothole. If Rays rims bend so easily why does almost every company in Japan (TRD, Nismo, RalliArt) have them manufacture their rims? You can find Rays wheels stock on Altima SE-R's. Not for daily driving?.. yea o.0
Let's just agree that all rims get damage when you go around swirving into potholes.

All i'm saying and you have to agree that Rota make knockoffs of other manufacturers original designs. For almost every rota design out there i can name the origional manufacturer. Same goes for Konig, only konig make more convincing looking knockoffs (their time attack knockoffs look pretty nice). And ADR, Excel, R1, nippon etc.

Don't get me wrong, I dont hate low cost rims, I just hate companies who don't have enough imagination to develop orgional designs. I respect Axis, Velox, Buddy Club and some others.

    -edit-
I think Zcorolla would get a kick out of this

Well most people can't afford high priced rims where a cheap replica will do the trick. Konigs are still good quality wheels. I didn't choose my Heliums for the knockoff look though. I chose them since they were very light and good looking. For me, it all comes down to quality and performance. It doesn't matter what brand it is.

the bad thing is , ive seen these rims: http://www.bsawheels.com.au/users/P...ail.aspx?id=276
on an acura rsx type s around here , the ravs and vork and all.

obviously , some citys maintain there roads alot better than others . but when traveling in unknown territory the large pothole can jump out in front of ya from out of no where.

i cant complain about my enkeis , ive hit a good size hole hard , and its fine , im actually more concerned w/ the cheap ass tires.

i noticed nobody mentioned enkei as being a good well respected company , they where around longer than most of the wheel manufacturers listed here . i remember my mom having black mesh enkei wheels on her 88 camaro when she first bought it. enkei is also used by gt , f1 , wrc , le mans , and scca . does any of these afformentioned rims have a role in real motorsports , meaning i dont see o.z. listed either . i did see advan listed , thats good. work has also been in the game for a while too , my unc had some on his 89 rx-7 back in 93 , but there even a "sports" wheel. most of the rims listed above are more sports oriented rims , none could ever see real le mans , f1 or wrc action like the big companys like enkei , o.z. , advan , and bbs.

motegi , asa , ro_ja , kazera , team dynamics , rota , sportmax , and knock offs are mostly street and show rims .

o.z. , work , wedsport , rays , volk , enkei , ssr , advan , falken , kosei , are the real sports and true track rims.

im not stating this to offend anyone , so , please no body start typing furiously in anger for this is not the point , the point is to buy purpose built rims . if you just want rims to look good while your rollin around , save your cash for other visual goodies and get the knock offs . but if you know your gonna be doing alot of traveling in unexpected ruff areas , actual track use , and the occasional spirited runs , get the real thing thats gonna hold up to real repeated beating without having to worry about bending or damaging rims.

just a question for zcorolla : is your corolla green and are you in FL? just wondering saw a green 94 today with same rims you have listed.

I have enkei RS6's and I love them. I've hit lots of potholes (I live in Minnesota, potholes galore) and they take the punishment. For tires, if you want to go upscale, or can find a deal at costco, BFGoodrich T/A KDW2 tires are awesome. I just got a set and they are much quieter than the Kumho Ecsta 711's I had before them, and they are much stickier. Plus the tread pattern is flat out sick. Although I have to give the Kumho's props because they lasted 35,000 miles
