Not that I know of. The drawback besides price is having a second license plate holder. You would have to fill in the stock holder in the bumper.

how about that CF trunk. maybe if we all wrote to a company like siebon , vis , carbon creations , we could con vince them to build 5 prototypes of 7 8 and 9 gens.

Well VIS makes the 8th gen already but it has a trunk mounted license plate holder instead of on the bumper.

I don't like the look of the trunk with the license plate. The current look is cleaner. Plus what difference is it going to make? Its not that much lighter.

nahhh... if our trunk lids were heavy they'd open with those mini shock absorbers. ever take a look at a hatchback? our trunk lids are pretty light. turn the key and it pops up. not unless you have a wing on the lid, then it will be heavy. but you might as well drive without any clothes if you want the weight difference. other than that, it's just for looks. not performance. if you want more unspung weight, get some real lightweight rims.

This is deff not an 8th gen trunk. At least its not the USDM trunk. The key hole is in the middle whereas it should be on the inner tail light on the passenger side.

If you just want the carbon trunk for looks, I suggest you invest in some carbon fiber vinyl.

So there is no carbon fiber trunk for 7th or 8th gens. Only 9th gens have it. If you want one, its going to have to be custom because there is no demand for a carbon fiber trunk for the 8th gens.

like stated already , there pretty light as it is , just a waste of money , if your that concerned w/ weight lose 5 pounds . unless your a ricer and just want it because its carbon fiber. if you have a full out race car , just cut the webbing out of your trunk.

Or use carbon fiber vinyl. It looks exactly like carbon fiber. If you want weight savings, you can fabricate a plastic trunk. LOL I don't see what all the hype is for having the carbon fiber look anyways.
