    hub ring?

i read the thread about the "vibrating steering wheel" and followed it by balancing and rotating my tires but the steering wheel still vibrates. my friend suggested i should get a hubring to make the vibrating stop is this right? any of you guys know what possible reason to why my steering wheel keeps vibrating? if so any solutions? btw i'm running on 205/40/17 and got h and r springs if that helps.

and lastly does anybody run on the same tire size as I do? If so does your steering wheel vibrate at 65mph? info very helpful to me thanks

i had the same problem once , mine was the inner cv joint. or some call it the inboard cv joint. they become particularly vulnurable when the big wheels go on. also if the motor mounts are bad.

If you don't have hub center rings for your rims then you really should get a set. It's cheap, something like $20-30 a set I think.

When i purchased my rims they came with hub rings and my wheels dont shake and there not balanced ..... but yes could be the rim isnt true or your tires has a belt broken run your hands on your tires especially if you hit alot of pot holes...

Have you gotten an alignment? If you have, and you already had your wheel balanced. Try switching back to your stock wheels + tires. If they don't vibrate, it's one of your 17" that's bent or "binkong" as we call it in Manila.

I personally don't recommend you using a "hub ring"

it can my friend t5 vibrated a lot when he changed his rims to 18's when he bought hub rings vibrations went away. I guess since the size diff of the centerbore is like 20mm (54.1 to 73.1) makes a possible problem. My steering wheel was vibrating when i mounted the 17's i thought it was normal ha3

hub rings don;t cover anythig up, all the do is convert your wheels from being lug centric to hub centric, if you have a suspension problem such as poor alignment, or worn components hub rings won;t fix that it will still vibrate.

you also may have a bad tire... when the belts in a tire separate from hitting a pot hole, or sometime tires are bad from the factory, it will cause serious vibrations even if it is balanced.

The hub rings on my car ALWAYS stick on the brake, not the rim, LOL.
I have to use a screw driver to pop them out. :D

Now I have the same problem. I removed my wheels for cleaning and when I put them back, I couldn't get them centered correctly. Now, my steering wheels shakes too. 54.1 is the correct inner bore. I'm running on Konig wheels and I'm not too sure what the center bore is on those.

This places sells four for 39.95. Is that a good deal?

I also found these on ebay.

Is 73-54.1 the right size? I know the 54.1 is correct, but as for the Konig wheels, I'm clueless.

Nevermind. I found a site that told me. 73 is correct as is 54.1. It's only 7 bucks shipped on ebay so even if it's the wrong size, I can't lose.
