Use brake squeal lubricant. They sell that at the local auto stores.

oem toyota pads are normally green. check that first. i've had a lot of squeeking with off brand crap brakes before. also is the sound coming from the front or the back? If its the rear, i've always had squeeking problems after the rear drums were 50% gone but they were still good.

if it bothers you that much, you can try those sprays that they have but those only last temporarily.

Look at the brakes and check to see how much "meat" is still on the pads. Chances are a squeal lubricant would be a quick fix, but you may need to replace them. Not too hard if you take your time.

When I bought it, a local mechanic said it had about 70% of the padding left on it. If the squeal lube will work, can anyone show me how to do it? Is it just a spray-on or does it require any kinda disassembly of the brakes???

My drums are actually pretty rusty on the outside. I'm not sure if they were ever replaced, but I'll look for the color on the fromnt pads and try taking the rears apart to see whats under there and let you know.
