    intakes

can a intake be too short what about too big of a outside diameter? if i have too much air coming in then stock and it coming in faster then stock should i adjust the fuel some how? askin cuz i put a 3" OD intake on my 01 corolla the whole intake is about 1 and 1/2 ft long including the 5" filter and it suks. when i stomp on the gas the engine lags almost cuts out then it starts speeding up when i get into highter revs. the oe intake hose is just 2 1/4 should i have stayed with that diameter?

If the intake tube is too big, it will screw up the MAF senor since it messure air by air flow.
Larger diameter = More air BUT NOT = air moving faster
Same amount of air going thought a bigger tube = air moving slower.
It's better to stack with the stock diameter

Long or short doesn't really matter in your case.

A shorter intake will mean more available air at higher rpms. This will help increase top end. A longer intake such as a cai will have more low end power but less gain at the top.

What are you doing for aN EXHAUST? If you can get the air out quicker then you can get a better response? then upgrade the cams to MWR 1 stage cams and you got a great daily driver or the start to better things?

I just looked up the MWR cams. It's not from MWR. It's Crower. It does look interesting though but it's kind of pricey. I think OBX used to make cams for the 1zz for a couple hundred.
