Engine k&n filters

it comes oiled, or my did anyways, you can clean it with electrical contact cleaner, and oil it with the k&n recommended oil, i use this aircraft air filter oil stuff from work it's the same thing, i think there worth the money and i haven't had any problems with it yet.

the K&N filter is great. I love it. increased my gas mileage about 5mpg for the type of driving i do. I clean my filter every 6 months with the cleaning solution and oil from K&N. it only cost me like 8bux on amazon.com.

I however do not like K&N's CAI and stuff. They are usually pointed down in an area where if you run the car through water puddles, water tends to get in pretty easily. my friend almost ruined his engine because of it. so unless you reroute your intake or fabricate something so the filter portion is protected, I wont recommend K&N version of the full intake.

k&n filters

Hi I have one of those ebay short ram intakes. It was cheap. My friend has a k&n and said it's nothing special. Is it worth the 50 bucks to get a K&n or do u think I'm fine with my ebay joint? Also I heard that the k&n has too good of air flow that it gets the fuel system dirty and k&n recommends that you oil up the filter before you use it. Is that tru?

if you have a 7th gen, get a short ram. you can make one for like 60. go get an injen filter and get some tubing and run the filter to right behind thee battery. i love mine that way. you can actually hear the car breathing when your sitting in the car with the windows up

He already has the intake, he just wants to know about filters.

i feel ya. So it would be worth gettin rid of my ebay filter and gettin the k&n?

Or a Fujita air filter, or an AEM Dryflow filter. The AEM Dryflow uses no oil on the filter, so cleaning is easier. I'm going to order one in the next few weeks when I can more easily justify it.

those ebay filter come with the intake is really cheap, replace it right away man. Don't risk your engine.
