I'm doing some research for new pads and rotors for my '98. I'm a spirited driver, and plan on making it out to a few auto-x's every now and then. I'm looking at getting ceramic pads because I HATE the stockers. They throw out blankets of dust on my wheels. I'm thinking about getting Hawk HPS or Ceramic pads. Also, I'm either getting plain-old Brembo rotors or getting ATE rotors (getting good reviews from tirerack.com). Opinions? Suggestions?

dude do not go with hawks, i had super bad luck with them. the first pair cracked after a week and the 2nd wore out real quick. so i went back to stock in the mean time but my friends just got some raybestos QS and they seem to be working real good. i've heard people say good things about hawk but i dont think i can buy them anymore. i'm thinking about raybestos pads and power slot rotors for my next purchase which will probably be sometime early next year...

Exactly! I have Hawk HPS and they aren't worth the money. I'll never buy them again! They are the most dusty and noisy brakes I've ever used. If I don't clean my car once a weak my wheels look filthy. Besides, for all the grime and noise HPS pads make the performance is average at best.

ok, i had some carbon-metallic pads from advance auto. they stop perfect and last a really long time and yea, ive heard of the same thing with the hawks. try the brembo rotors, friend has some that work really well.
