    new corolla vs yaris

Hi group, I will be in need of new car soon and need your help choosing it. I own a 96 rolla and a 91 civic, I’m currently looking at the yaris since the rolla will be redesign in 08. Does anybody knows when will they release it?, I will guess August 07 but that will be too long for me. Also the picture of the japan model does NOT enthusiasm me as the new civic is a LOT nicer and pricier thought. The other car that I have in my eyes is the old celica but they are still expensive, like 15000 for a 04 model (gt) is way too expensive since a fully loaded yaris is about 13500$. And the 1.8 liter equipped version of it will be a winner but I’m sure they won’t release here in USA.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

like u said 10th gen corolla won't be out until atleast August of 07 as a 08 model... and i'm sure that we won't get the JDM version... Yaris, tons of mods available from Japan... nice and roomy compared to the 96 rolla and more powerful, better handling and fuel efficient... and last but not least its MADE IN JAPAN....

i think the yaris is cool. but i've come accutomed to the 1.8L engine which is quite a bit different. just like a 4cyl and 6cyl you feel the difference. other than that, the yaris definetly has more parts available, esp in japan which many companies right now are importing so yeah.. if i didnt have a car, i would get a yaris, but if i've own or owned a corolla or better before, i dont think i would get a yaris unless i want to make it a project car.

btw, i drove a modified yaris and it wowed me. great project car

^I think that's just a base model + options, not really a fully loaded
    model rigth?

Anyway, Yaris is a good car, I like it but I refuse to "down grade" from Corolla to Yaris. :p

Are you gonna get a hatchback?

I meant get as much as possible from the dealer and then add stuff myself. On the price I gave I forgot to add the “spoiler” like 200$ and the side “pillows” 650$. then I would add a nice set of rings 500$, lower spring, and maybe if is possible I will build my own f1 style tachometer.
