Why are you even asking then.

If you think gutting or removing your cat is going to make you faster your doing the wrong kinds of mods. For 1-2 more hp I'd rather have cleaner air and a car that doesn't smell like @$$.

Girls don't really like that smell.

High flow cat or no cat?

Does any one know what will happen if I take my cat off of my 2001 corolla S? Some people say that my car wont run right and some people say I will get more power out of it. So im not sure if I should get a high flow cat or if I should just run it with no cat at all. Please let me know what bad or good things I can get from this.

    Be legal and keep it.
    BTW, Toyota doesn't have a Corolla Type S. It's just Corolla S.

Get a high flow cat man it's not worth gutting it all the way you will get maybe 1hp at the crank... I saw a test in a popular tuning mag where they took a civic already tuned with a b-18 or something like that pushing a good 200 whp and they tested stock cat versus high flow versus test pipe. Guess what? there was a difference of 5 whp and 3 ft/lbs form stock to high flow and 1 whp and not even 1 ft/lbs from high flow to test pipe.

Bottom line as they said "better go to the gym and shave 10 lbs off your butts", you will actually be faster and you will stay street legal and help save the ozone. But thats only my two cents

I had a high flow cat in my 01 and it was great, but my check engine light came on stating "Cat Efficent Low". The performance was nice and the check engine did not interfer with the performance. I don't like the ck engine light on. I changed it to another cat that was less than the high flow, but better than my stock. The resistance caused by the cat does sat the o2 sensor to avoid the ck eng. I'm in the process of upgrading my whole exhaust system perparing for turbor or engine swap w/ turbo. I will let everybody know how it went.

What mod do you have? Any exhrust mod?
Taking out the cat is not easy since it's not bolt on, you have to go to th muffler shop to cut it out.
