    HID melting headlight housing unit?

Would a 8000k HID unit cause any damage to the stock plastic headlights? Does anyone here have that setup? If its all good I'm gonna go ahead and convert.

I see no reason why it would do that.

BTW, I would personally go with a lower Kelvin rating on the HID's. Go with a 5k or 6k. You'll get better light output, and they're both less blue than the 8k's, so if cops are anal about HID's in your area, you're less likely to be busted.

Go with 4300K. It's the best output with the least amount of glare. It'll be easier to see in wet and foggy conditions with them.

HID burn with less wattage and heat than triditional Halogens so no.

Yes, you'll need a shield to keep the glare off other drivers eyes.

whew I called in to change my order to 6000k and it went through. I didn't want that much blue tint anyways in the 8000k. I would go with 4300k but they don't offer it, only 4000k. btw, its an H4 so it has the low beam HID unit and then a high beam halogen unit next to it. Is there any information that I should know about that? Can I change the halogen later on? A lot of questions I know but I want to get it right. hehe

The kit has a lower shield built into it. Their is still a lot of glare though. anyway to lower it?

there is bi-xenons where high and lows are HID for H4... but imo if u got HID Low u won't need high beams cuz HID is gonna be brighter then ur highbeam... 4000k and 4300k won't make much difference infact u can't even tell w/ ur eyes...

glare problem... u'll hav to re-aim ur headlights after installing HID
