check engine light on 01 corolla, got the OBD2 read

plugged in an OBD2 reader and it sayed "Evaporative Emission Control System Incorrect Purge Flow"

So if anyone has any tips, or knows what the problem is and how to fix it. Any help is appreciated.

If you do know what the problem is, should i attempt to fix it myself, i'm a novice when it comes to working on cars.

    Thanks alot guys.

alright it seemed to be on properly, but i removed the cap and put it bag on.
now if that was the problem should i wait to see if the light goes off in the next couple of days, or should i reset the check engine light and see if it comes on again?

it think your better off reseting the light cause the car only testthe EVAP system under certain circumstances it may be while till you repeat the needed situations.

our cars have a problem with one of the purge valves. when you open the gas cap to refuel is there a vacuum? if there is its probably the valve thats not opening. i'm not sure which one it is, but if you go to the junkyard just buy one and pocket the other. another thing you can check for is the integrity of the hose that goes from the canister to the manifold with an air compressor.
