find a mechanic you can trust..

I would do it myself... except living in an apartment building does not allow you to do that

i never do my oil change anymore. the hassle of buying oil (for cheap), disposing used oil, getting underneath the car, etc. takes too long. im too lazy. So i Have mechanics that do it for me. lol. thats what money is for. to pay people for jobs you dont want to do yourself. if you are broke like how i was many years back, then i guess you gotta do it yourself if you want it done right. I took my car to EZ lube a few times and marked my oil filter and everything and watched as they did the oil change but even then, they screw up. they tightened the drain bolt to much, the oil filter didnt get put on correctly, they didnt put enough oil or too much oil. bleh. even toyota dealerships man.. they screw up. oh well i guess thats life.

If you can prove that they hadn't done a proper job and I think it's waranteed in the papers they make you sign and it damages or breaks your car, you can sue. And you have the proof, solid evidence. Once enough people catch on and take legal action, they'll either clean up their act or close down.

walmart is pretty good. my dad takes his honda civic to them... well... i take it for my dad... the oil specs are on their computer. but...... while they're working on my dad's car, i give them a hard time, "hey, make sure you secure the drain plug!" "don't forget to screw in that oil filter tight."

I do everything myself and only bring it to my private trusted mechanic when I need to. I actually worked for him before so I know he does good quality trusted work.

as you get older, either A) makes you not want to do it anymore because you have other things you need to do or B) you have to do it yourself cuz you dont trust anyone with your car.

This is funny. I just saw a Jiffy Lube commercial recently and it's stressing how service and customer satisfaction comes first. And then I watch this exclusive and I laugh.
