problem with sub - need help

I just bought an '05 Alpine Type R 12" and installed it in my car. the installation is clean and it sounds really good, but there is a big problem. It seems that the sub plays all the low notes as low and loud as can be cleanly. But the higher sub notes are being played by the 6 by 9's that came in the car. Of course they cannot compare to my sub, so the songs with low and medium sub range sounds really good, but the high notes sounds like crap (it is the stock speakers.) Is there any way to disable the higher "sub" sounds from the 6 by 9's in order to let my sub rock the bass??

you can get a bass blocker. It connects in series to your speakers and it blocks certain frequency that you don't like. www.crutchfield.com they have it.

you could also by an EQ so you can adjust which frequencies each speaker gets individually.

Buy component speakers that have a crossover. Solves the problem, but kinda expensive ($100+).

it depends if u hav a low end deck or the mid to high end models cuz usually the low-end deck won't hav sub adjustment in the deck only the mid-range to high end model decks hav it... but u still can do it w/ low end decks just adjust the amp output cuz there is usually gains, freq, etc... u can adjust...
