    2001 Corolla Audio System install

Alright i'm new here and i need a little help, anything would be appreciated.

I got an 01 corolla, with manual windows and i'm looking to install a full system, deck, speakers, amps, woofers.

I was wondering if anyone can give me any tips on taking off the manual window handles so i can take off my door panel, and how i could get to my deck to take out the stock deck and put an aftermarket one in. for example do i need to take the whole interior apart

By the way is there any good manuals i can get for my corolla and where, i'm from Toronto area.

    Thanks

by the way, if i run something like 1400 watts rms, with about a 1.5 farad cap, is the corolla gonna be able to handle that, or would i need to move up to a better battery or alternator in the near future

power wise you'll be fine, haynes has a manual out for these corollas its agreat cause it has all the wiring diagrams, the handles have a small hidden clip that you have to take a shop rag and run in between the door panel and the handel and it will pop out.

    almost done

alright i'm almost done my install, pretty much gotta hook up the woofer and plug the deck in.

Thanks for the help with the window handle, i ended up getting it done at an audio store when i bought a cap, they did it for free so it was easier, but now that i know how the pins look like i could probably do it myself with a rag.

i picked up the hanes manual, it's good, but i don't like how it ranges from like 93-02 or something like that, would prefer it to be more based on the 2000 range but it will do

when i took my front door panel off i realized that, first the stock toyota speakers are ASS, my old 92 tempo, and 91 sable had better speakers, well at least they didn't look like they were made from a cardboard box and not only that the speakers were glued to a bracket that was then rivited to the door, so i just made custom brakets out of 3/4 plywood, they seem to do the job fine, and they give me the clearence i need to close the window

for the rear i couldn't get the speaker grills off so i found it was easier to just remove the panel, you just take the plastic clips off the baby seat fastners, then unfasten the three baby seat bolts, take out the two plastic pins inserted just back of the seats and take out the plastic light rear break cover, and off it goes.

i ended up not mounting any rear speakers as the crappy pair i had got all cracked up and stuff, from sitting around, so they were no good. If anyone has some 6-1/2 ( i think that's what the backs are) for sale, nothing too high end, that is in the toronto area, or windsor, or at least can ship, im interested.

i should have pics by monday if anyone is interested?
oh and one more thing for the 2001 cd player, anyone got a diagram of the wiring harness, so i'll have less work with the voltmeter

I finally got everything hooked up, but now i got some problems to figure out.

The hook up went pretty smooth, although we didn't unhook the battery after cutting the harness, and when we were stripping the wires and using the voltmeter we blew a fuse. we didn't know that for like 20min, we figured out the whole wiring, found the ignition, but couldn't find a battery, until after 5 min of sitting and scratching out heads we realized the dome light was off. after replacing the dome light fuse we easily found the power wire and plugged my deck in. That lead to more headaches, turnes out the remote wire at one of the amps, although plugged in didn't have a good contact. we originally thought the problem was at the deck when we hooked up the remote wire to the deck and after playing with that for a while and getting no where, we tried the other end, and like magic the amps turned on.

This lead me to my last problem, which still isn't solved
I recently got a alpine mrd-m1005 sub amp, for the used pair of kaption 12" woofers i found, after hooking up the amp and woofers, with all connections seeming perfect, there is no sound coming out of the woofers. when you turn on the deck, the amp powers on, the display on it shows 12.4 volts, when the key is in acc, but you get nothing out of the woofers. if you put your ear to the woofer you can faintly hear a sound, when you place ur hand on the woofer you can feel it move ever so slightly. even after cranking the woofer on the deck, you barely get anything.
know running 1000 watts into two woofers that take 500rms each, i should be fine, and pounding well, but for some reason i'm not there

i have to return to school tomorrow, which is 4 hours away, so i won't be taking my woofer box with me cause i have no place to work on my car at school and i don't wanna drag my heavy ass box that far out when it's not gonna work

i'll try working on it in early may, but any ideas will help

    thanks guys

by the way the carpet is gonna get peeled back so it doesn't block air to the amps, and my woofer box will go in there when i get everything done
