Project NSI - Civic haters, you're gonna hate me!

Well.. my lil 89 civic si i bought for a daily beater (since me and my wife share the corolla as a beater, but soon we can't because of school)... Have had loads of fun
Bought a ZC motor for it.. wouldn't you know, it was bad. #1 rod broke and tore up some vitals.. Like the block, crankcase, oil runner, etc.. The civic came with a bad motor (hence why I got it for $400), rod bearings are shot in it. So now I have 2 dead motors. I have 3.2 liters of 8 pistons, 7.5 rods, 24 valves. If I were the rice master, I could say I've got a 800 horsepower beast to content with, with my FWD popping wheels on the drag strip breaking 5 second 1/4 miles. In reality I could possibly push it a 1/4 of a yard in 5 seconds!

Well, the mission has change now, hence the new name, NSI. I'm going the rebuild the bottom end of the stock D16A6 using the PM7 pistons from the ZC motor (thank god those pistons are in decent shape). That'll up my compression from approx 9.1 or 9.5 to around 10.5:1. Coupled with some spare higher flow injectors, an extra fuel pressure regular, an a different ECU, I'll at least manage to add a few horsepower to the cause. Still no 'vette burner or anything, but I really need something a lil more effecient than the 17-18 MPG I get around town in my Impala. Gas ain't cheap ya know..

(note: car belonged to a buddy of mine who was in the marines for a while, hence the whole marine thing)
