I am not liking my tein/tokicco blues combo.
It does ride rather stiff. I already did cut the bumpstops.
Anybody else?
Well I ordered a set of koni bumpstops; which I hope will remedy the problem.

the bumpstops are the things that it will "hit" when the suspension fully compresses. is this what is happening?

i have my bumpstops removed in my 93 corolla with eibach sportline/tokico blues combo and it still bottoms out. they were removed to increase suspension travel to the max.

Im pretty sure its the Tokico's. I have the same problem. It bottoms out for any damn pot hole, dip, or bump. Even when I go as slow as I can. I have H&R springs and the bumpstops are cut.

well last night i slowed down and drove over a steel plate at a construction site and the shit bottomed out...I was thinking wtf? so I added an inch more bumpstop and now the shit rides really stiff because the suspension travel is really short and it is like I am riding on the bumpstops. I had this similar problem on my 03 corolla too. I let you guys know if the koni bumpstops will remedy this problem.

That happened to me and my problem was a blown front driver side strut. I had my Tokicos for about three weeks before it happened. I had similar symptoms, especially the bottoming out on EVERY small bump.

Take them to a shop, or If you know how, take the struts off and check how easily they compress.

I already took my struts apart last night right after I ran over that steel plate. It does not compress very easily so I know
my struts are still good. I should hope so since it is only 2 weeks old.

I had my alignment done today, shit i need to get a camber kit for my front.
I read somewhere somebody bought one and did not need to use it, anybody want to sell theirs?

i think that is normal on tokico's, i have kyb's myself and they are smooth as stock

Make sure you need it. Some shops say anything to rip you off.

after all these posts i'm still confused as to what give a good comfortable ride......

Tein springs are linear wound while springs like eibach and trd are progressively wound. Progessively wounds springs offer a nice drop while not sacrificing ride quality. check out the height on my ride with TRD springs.

I think I will now get a set of trd or eibach springs.

I got my eibach pro-kit inconjunction with the tokicco's. The ride is much firmer but not to harsh. I managed to crawl under the car while it was on the ground and noticed that there is not much suspension travel with these cars. The pro-kit lowers the front about 1.5 inches and the travel between the top cap and the bump stop is only a few inches. Oh yeah, the ground-control bump-stops are so much better than the cut stock ones. *I would like to add I had such great service and technical support from ground-control, they sent me another pair of bump-stops for free since they sent me the wrong ones* Big thumbs up to ground-control.

I have the same setup as mentioned above and I am soo happy with this, the ride is firm but not harsh yet the difference when cornering and in curves is really good. Ive driven over certain bad spots and i havent bottomed out at all. i just hope that i get longevity out of this setup.

ditto. I thought it handled so great and it still does...but now I am wanting swaybars to stiffen up the suspension a little more. The front upper strut bar mad a slight improvement.

i'm riding on s-techs and kyb gr2's. I have no complaints about the ride.

Get the swaybars, it made a world of difference compared to my stock sways with Apex and GR-2s.

Yeah, that's pretty much the set to use. I wish I went and got the GR-2's. The ride was so so terrible with the s-techs and tokico's.
Overall I got no complaints since I changed out my springs to Eibachs. Now I can't wait to get
my swaybars. Does anybody here have just the rear swaybar? I read somewhere if you run just the
rear swaybar (whiteline) it's there is less understeer vs using a front and rear swaybar?

thanks for the comment, this is the only picture i have for now, hopefully i'll get a chance to take some shots soon. I have TOMs sides and rear, shyguy front lip, TRD lip spoiler, tein s techs w/ KYB GR2's on 17 inch rims

is their a huge handling difference between tokicos and kybs?

I only ask because I'm looking for a good ( minimal compromises ) back roading suspension, I've already decided on teins beacuse of their non-progressive nature, but it would be nice to have slightly softer shocks if they dont handle terribly differently.

I suggest you get the kyb's then.
The Tein kyb combo is pretty much the way to go if you want comfort.
