pardon my ignorance, but where exactly does this go? how much does this help in reducing flex in the chassis and improving handling/response/stability? i believe i have seen similar bars installed on civics seen from the rear of the car. does anyone have one and/or have any pictures of it installed?

anyone know which companies make these instead of this generic e-bay bar, if any?

oh my goodness. please do not chop your rim in half and extend it. it will be a waste of time, probably dangerous, and other stuff i can't think of.

sorry, nope. I am not joking. We have a shop on our island called Freddies.
He specializes in widening rims and doing general rim repairs. I curbeb my ssr's really badly, and mind you it had a 3 inch polished lip, he was able to do the repair with flawless effort. Anywho, when I was there I saw him working on another customers rim, he was extending a older custom ssr rim which ssr only makes a 15x7 rim, but this guy wanted 15x8 up front and 15x10 in the rear for his 240sx. When I came back a week later to pick up my rim that was repaired, I inspected the work he did on extended ssr rim, and like my rim, it was flawless.
He actually widens rims all the time for guys with pro-street cars here. Bare in mind if you don't know what your doing then it would be not in your best intrest to extend the rim; but i think welding a rim is just as safe if not safer than say a 2 or three peice rim which is held together with little nuts and bolts? But yeah, I know, it is a waste of money since it is a stock alloy wheel, but I just want a sleeper grocery getter. I dunno yet maybe I just put wheel spacers instead?

i suppose a pro wheel repair ship could do a good job. obviously i didn't think you had access to such a place.

they put a lot of thought into the two/three piece rims. all the bolts working together make the wheel as one. in an accident where there would be breakage, i don't think it matters if they are one, two, or three piece wheels.

quality wheel spacers may allow you to bring the wheels out a little safely and produce better handling because of the wider track.

if you can tuck them under your fenders, i would say go for it. billet wheel spacers are the shit.

fender flares or fender mods may be needed?

Does anyone have this lower tie bar installed for the year 98-02 Corollas? I'm interested in its performance aspects. I read that some guy installed one and claimed that when he came out of corners, the car came out with less roll. It felt as if the car had more grip. Just wondering. Thanks.

i say it does not but adding useless weight to the car... the point where both L & R side wishbones join at the middle of the frame hav so little distance apart compared to a civic... civic A-arm setup is far apart compared to the double wishbone setup on the corolla so therefore civic hav more flex in the back then corollas so thats y civic need it and we don't, even though civic a-arm setup hav better handling...

in theory.........

that crap clings there to add "support" in the corolla models that the rear seats fold in, because.......

the corolla needed to be removed of some parts that interfered with access thru the folding doors...

ofcourse the diferrence would be so minimal only REAL race drivers would be able to spot.. IF any
afaik, don't buy junk
