01 corolla 1zzfe missing lots of engine oil

    Hi,

I have a 01 corolla 1zzfe 5spd, using 5w30 synthetic. for some reason, i am missing oil when i check the dip stick. i am missing about 1/4 of oil in the dip stick every 300km. but i dun see any leaks on top or burning. please help.

i checked and i don't see any leaks, I just topped up oil level to full, and I checked the oil level again today, used 1.4L of Mobile1 5w30 synthetic in 866km

If this is a leak, its a big leak right? I should be able to see a leak. Also if its burning that much oil, I should see it in the exhast tip as well.

I checked the exhast and I dont see any black\blue\white smokes. so its probably not burning.

i took out the spark plug today, and the electrode is white, I thought it should be kinda a burning brown. What is wrong? Could this cause my oil issue?

i heard that a pcv valve can cause issues like this too, is this true?

    Thanks

    Please help.

how many miles on your car? this has been known to be an issue after 65-75k miles on the 98-01 models. try corolland.com forums

im experiencing the loss myself on my 98. i switched that valvoline max life brand and it helps a little bit. i still have to add a little oil once in a while.

Same with me, its always a prob cause if i forget to check the oil then i run the car low on oil. I never see any black smoke while the car is on and i have had people drive behind me to see what kind of smoke comes out and nothing out of the ordinary, but one thing i found was that at the garage at work i park the car in a way that the back of my car faces a white brick wall.....after a week of parking at the same spot i see that there is a huge black stain on the wall by where the tail pipe would face. So it seems that specially at start up am burning alot of oil.
