Yes! You will rub for sure with a larger diameter tire.
Maybe you should just roll the fenders.

    205/40R16 vs. 205/45R16

My car originally had 175-65R16 wheels, but in the summer I run 205-40R16 tires on Enkei rims. I had the inner lip of the rear fenders shaved because my tires were rubbing. If I switch sizes to 205-45 (up a size in tire height) with my next set of tires do I run the risk of rubbing?

    Whoops! That should be 175-65-14.

I've been doing some sleuthing and the difference in daimeter between 40 and 45 series tires is slightly less than an inch. My fenders are cut so there's pretty much no inner fender lip, so its pretty comprable to rolling the fenders.

Tire rack has a really good deal on General Exclaim UHP tires, but they only offer them in 45 series, not 40. I guess there are a lot of tires out there, but it looks like a very well reveiwed tire. Plus, each tire weighs 17 pounds, vs. ~20 pounds for most other tires, so if they'll work I'd like to give them a shot.

I've also been looking at Cooper Zeon ZPT's and Nexen N3000 tires. Does anyone have experience with any of these tire brands? I currently have Kumho Ecsta 711's and they've been a good tire for me. I have 30,000 miles on them and they have about one more summer of driving left on them, so if all else fails I'll get new Kumhos.

you should definitely go with 205-45R16 coz that is the closest match to the stock tires we have in corollas in terms of rotation i think, read it somewhere before.
