New KYB GR2 struts, still making noise

i just had the rear struts of my 95 corolla replaced 2 weeks ago since it was making annoying clunking noise whenever i drive thru potholes and those rough roads. Replaced my old/stock struts with KYB GR2, but still, i can still hear those noise and its really annoying... does anybody here know what else could be wrong? thanks...

You should make sure you tightened that single bolt on top of the strut.
I think you may need an allen wrench and a open ended wrench to tighten it.

maybe its something elses, check for loose screws in the back the the car... maybe the exchaust pipe or something...

I got a ringing sound in the left fornt side but i think its the left fender when i removed the oem air box

Or check those rubber spring insulators. There is a rubber mount on top and bottom of the spring that separates it from the metal mount plates. If the rubber deteriorates, then you have metal-metal contact b/w the spring and its mount plate - that will DEFINITELY make some clunking noises each time you hit a bump.

there is a rubber pad on top of the strut between the strut and the car. when i lowered my 94 those wore out and started making a clunking noise.

I have the same issue. My 2001 Corolla started making that noise when i replaced the springs, I took it back and they couldnt find any thing wrong at all. I just replaced the struts about 3 months ago and it still makes the same noise. I took it back and they couldnt find anything wrong. Its annoying but it doesnt have an affect the ride. I've taken it to a couple different shops and they all say there is nothing wrong.

I am telling you all, please check the nut on the top of your strut assembly. It is the nut that holds down the cap on top of the spring.
I had this same dilema when I had installed my struts last weekend.
