outside temp on guages w/ tach

    outside temp on guages w/ tach

    ok get this kids i got the guages for my rolla with the tach ya know when you plug em up they just say -E for error right well ive had them for 3 months now and today i get in the car and it says "outside temp -22f" does anyone have a clue where this sensor is supposed to be cuz im gonna order it and put it in any clues? any ideas let me know please

    lol!!!!! i had athe same problem or still have and it did the exact same thing with me, started giving me that -22 error, i was told i have to put that sensor in, but i can't find where to get teh stuff to get it workign the right way

    i'm gonna go to the dealer tomorrow and see how much it is for the part and find out wher it goes so ill let you know

    sometimes it could be just coz its dirty.
    for my car, i gently wipe it each time i wash my car. sometimes i would listen to the weather announcement on radio and i would see my temp. is way off - i would wipe it and it seems to get more accurate readings.
    its right there in front so it does get a lot of dirt.

    the temp. sensor is right in the front when you open your hood. i have an 03 and i would assume it's the same for other yrs. it's in front of the rad. there's a piece of vertical metal support and the sensor is attached to this support. so it's between the grill and this support. it's black and it's about 2 inches in lenght.

    u can see it in the picture below. it's just below the horn.
