    Prizm to Corolla?

Hi guys. I'm looking into buying either a 98-00 Prizm or Corolla pretty soon. I'm kinda leaning more toward the Prizm because of the dash layout and that they can be bought for cheaper. However, I like the headlights and front bumper of the 2001 Corolla. I know you can swap them on to a 2000 Corolla, but has anyone swapped them on to a Prizm? Is it a direct swap?

i saw one today and the hood and fenders appear to have different lines, so based purely on visuals, i would think that if it were possible you would have to replace both fenders, bumper, and possibly hood. pure speculation though.

How much cheaper is a 98-00 Prizm? If not much (say under $1000-$2000), I'll get the corolla instead.

It works out much cheaper than that when factoring Customs Duty. Our Government has a strange way of figuring Duty.

They're the same car with different body panels, I believe. So if you bought the Corolla fenders, front bumper, hood, and headlights, it should all fit perfectly.

When I bought my 94 two years ago, the factory paint was in pretty bad condition. The clear coat was peeling and it looked scratched to hell, so it may just depend on the car.

But I believe the oem corolla paint job is a lot better, I saw some Prizm's paint is chipping off already.

just fyi...that gen of corolla has some HILLATIOUS problems with interior falling apart...then engine are ok, paint...eh...the main difference I saw mechanically was the a/c system...prizm has accumulator...rolla reciever drier.

It's really either or...I personally stay away from that body of rolla...but if you like 'em then it really just depends on your personal preff...they are pretty much the same car...only slight visual differences.
