    Looking for real thrills? the new high-performance Corolla XRS with its powerful 170-hp VVTL-i engine, 6-speed manual transmission, 16" aluminum alloy wheels and standard rear spoiler is ready for takeoff.

    Well I've pm'd hooolala twice about this...no reply...

    Any one know why the hp spec is at 170?

    2zz only puts out
    164 hp @ 7600 rpm;
    125 lb.-ft. @ 4400 rpm

    (specs gathered from www.toyota.com)

    and the 1zz
    126 hp @ 6000 rpm;
    122 lb.-ft. @ 4200 rpm

    The supercharged version (TTE supercharger) has
    221.16687 hp (numbers converted from TTE site)
    169.6392939 Ibs

    I think that convo is right

    sure it's a diff of 6 hp but still...accuracy?

    depending on the year, the 2zz will put out different numbers due to emissions changes, changes by toyota, and lately the new sae definition of hp

    I think the 1st year the 2zz rolla came out it was rated at 170.
