I got this from a different car forum. you could try this i think it would be pretty much universal

Basically Rodslinger gutted out his cat and then did this mod to his O2 sensor to keep it from tripping the CE light!

Parts needed (should be available from Radio Shack of similar store and cost under $5.00:(
    (1) 1-MFD Capacitor
    (1) 1-MOhm resistor
One Assortment of Heat Shrink Tubing

Remove the second oxygen sensor. Sensor will be located just behind catalytic converter.
See the wiring diagram above to better understand connections. Remove protective sheathing from the oxygen sensor near the middle to expose the four wires (two black, one blue and one white). Cut the blue and white wire. Do not cut the black wires, they will not be modified. Install the 1-MOhm resistor inline on the blue wire. Install the 1-MFD capacitor between the white wires and the harness side of the resistor. Seal all connections with heat shrink or tape and reinstall sensor.

hey...I got rid of my o2sensor signal with an oxygen sensor simulator. go here: http://www.o2sim.com/. WORKS PERFECT but be sure to follow the instructions. That is, you wire this into your sensor setup so you'll need to keep your sensor there.

You probably have a catalytic converter followed by a resonator.

How much does a cat really restrict performance though?

That's something new to me, probably due to lower emission standards; have to see if my 02 Sienna has them.

I dont really know whats the real the answer but, going catless on your car gives you better performance like top end on your 1/4 mile time trap and atleast add a descent 5hp+ depends on aftermarket parts(intake, headers, supercharger or turbo and etc).

taking off your cat is more of a psychological hp gain...you're really not accomplishing anything...except polluting our air more...thanks

If you are running high boost (20psi +) then you might get a gain...otherwise leave the stock one on...either way...you should just get a high flow cat

what's next...taking off your egr valve?

any hoo do what you want...but you won't gain enough power...you may gain high end but you lose low end...always a trade off there...but whatever

it would really be more like moving your powerband...but just a little, I dunno...just me...if I were gonna go through the trouble of doing work on my car...and consider myself a tuner...I would go for an actual mod...an actual performance mod...that's just me, I prefer doing stuff that actually benefits my car...

Hell you can gain a couple hp just by using better motor oil, cleaning your throttle body, cleaning carbon out of your engine, cleaning your injectors...and how much easier is that, plus your are actually doing something benificial.

So no...1-2 hp is nothing...and not worth anything...you gain and lose a couple hp everyday depending on weather, fuel, oil, etc, etc.

kinda...ricer mod vs. performance mod...so yeah...it's whatever really...ricers gonna rice, can't stop 'em...so yeah...go ahead...gut that cat, put on 3.5 inch pipes on your stock 4cyl, rip off your egr, pull that vacuum line going to your stock fuel press. reg., I encourage you really... ;) HA HA HA

Now to answer the question...yes you can...you really need to read up on how the O2 sensors operate together before you consider doing any work on your car...you really need to learn more because you will only make your car run like crap and end up damaging something.

The first O2 sensor reads a specific voltage output...it varies from .75 to 2 to 3V or so...the second one should read much lower voltage...because the cat reduces the emissions which causes the O2 sensor to put out voltage. When your cat goes bad the O2 sensors will read almost the same...causing a MIL (malfunction indicator light) also know as your check engine light.

So theoretically just reducing the voltage output by the second sensor may keep it off, but again...the signal varies through rpm...at higher rpm when your emissions systems stop doing their work (they don't work at WOT) so the second O2 sensor puts out more voltage and the computer knows this...so yeah that trick posted above would prolly work...but again...kinda pointless

The computer uses BOTH sensors to DIRECTLY effect your fuel system, when you screw with this you screw with your efficiency...and that screws with power...have fun!

sorry man,i dont own an slorolla anymore,i upgraded my car to a 05' evo8 and my knowlege about by putting an turbo back exhaust with a testpipe i gain more than 5hp and i had better top end then stock and who the hell would put a 3.5 cat on a n/a motor.i know i not stupid to do that on a n/a and 3.5 cat is good for bigger turbo to breath better.why are you talking about rip off your egr, pull that vacuum line going to your stock fuel press???is this topic about removing the cat and ninety four is asking a question? How much does a cat really restrict performance though?and i provided some knowlege(info)that i know from owning a corolla and if you know the real question to what ninety four is asking...please answer it?and keep your story short, not long because its not answer the question of the topic and what ninety four whats to know.

geez this is gonna sound really rude...oh well

Apparently you didn't read my post...I said UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO TURBO...so yes for a turbo...no cat/high flow will do some good...
please read my posts before you attempt to slam me k?

As to the fuel press thing, 3.5" exaust...those are what we call "ricer mods" like taking your cat off of your stock car...I SAID STOCK...so don't miss that...STOCK...these are things that people THINK will gain HP/torque...but don't gain anything at all

    i.e. 1-2 hp...not worth it

Hince why I said "What's next" because taking off/gutting a cat on a n/a car is a RICER MOD that does NO GOOD...so what kind of knowledge IS that? sorry man...you just kinda slammed yourself there.

Do I need to retype my post or can you read them youself...I really don't wanna repeat myself, but it looks like I'm gonna have to. I don't really care what you drive bro, doesn't change the fact that taking off a cat on a stock n/a car does nothing for performance.

Again not tryint to be rude but when it's in the post bro. and when it's common FREAKING SINCE! It's hard not to reply to that and not sound rude

Taking my car out made a huge difference in how fast my engine revved up with my lightened flywheel. I can vouch for that :)

sonsofwisdom you started it man beause you post a rude answer and at the same time you didnt understand my post #13 to answering #11 question,so you the one need to appoligize because you didnt understand ninety four question??? and i understand your post but at the same time i felt that you trying to act a smart ass and being stupid.so im just asking in a friendly question can you answer ninety four question on #11 if not, stop posting...and you stating about adding catless to my car and at the same time you didnt know i own an evo so most likely you got surprise and now you saying you dont care what i drive?i basic answer your question about what i drive and yes i did add a test pipe for more power and its not a waste of time?.if you dont know, now you know and i know alot of people doing a catless on a n/a even though there car is stock because of more power over high flow cat.Aftermarket catless and custom catess is most of the time better than stocker,so if you dont have a proper answer to a member question please dont post anything and please stick to the subject and thats all im saying bro...so dont post anything if you cant answer to #11 post besause thats what i was tryin to do.CASE CLOSED!...

    wtf?

The ORIGINAL question was answered and this one got asked...how much will taking the cat off really gain power? I've been answering that one, that's how threads on forums go usually, one quest. is started, another arises, and it gets dealt with.

why would I be surprised and why should I care and why does it matter that you drive an evo? I don't drive a corolla either man... The car you drive or that I drive does not change the FACT that simply taking off your cat does NOT improve performance...sure that wasn't the initial question but it was brought up by another member ON THIS THREAD and I'm commenting on that.

YOUR CAR IS NOT N/A nor is it stock...I'm not posting in concern to your car man geez. AGAIN for the THIRD TIME as I said before on a STOCK car...meaning STOCK exhaust...NO simply taking off the cat will not gain anything that is answering quest 11

the guy that started this thread didn't say anything about making any other mods other than removing his cat...so it seems safe to say a stock setup all around...so removing the cat is non beneficial.

Now I say removing the cat on a stock n/a car is pointless and doesn't gain on STOCK N/A CARS...I know this from my own exp...if you wanna disagree go ahead...but just say you disagree...but please don't start including info on gains with turbo setups and what not..cause those ARE NOT STOCK

Well anyway that IS what I've been doing...you just don't like what I've had to say

I'm not being a smart ass I just get very annoyed by people recommending ricer mods all the time...and removing the cat from a stock car is just that. Please note I said stock car...when did I say that altering the cat setup from a car with forced induction was bad...oh wait I didn't...I said it was a good idea...

So if you don't mind, stop making it look like I'm saying something other than what I actually said...and that is that altering the cat setup on an n/a stock car is not gonna gain anything...

Anyway I'm done here so go ahead and defend your turbo setup again...even though I never said anything about YOUR setup.

OK...i get your point and i wanna make a conclusion to this and i'll be the "MAN" to appologize first and say im sorry,im wrong and you right.I just want to end this and be mature about it and i pretty much thought about it whats going on(immature stuff)this thread and everyone has there point of view,so i rather stop and again be MAN to end it here.thank you again.
