    Adjustable Suspension..Coilover Conversion Kit

My first step since buying the car 2 weeks ago is I am going to lower it with the kit from Ground Control I think. http://www.ground-control-store.com...hp/II=100/CA=18
THinking of keeping original shocks for now. Are still good.
Wanna know what you guys think. I hear Ground Control makes are well made. Thanks for the help...newbie.

well the stock shocks wont last much longer with a lowered suspension, since you're putting more stress on it, plus it wont dampen enough to make the ride comfortable

p.s. your car is 2006, if i were you, i'd wait till the warrenty is over, once you put these on, they have the right to not service your car

Ground Control + Tokico struts = bad. My Tockico's blew out real quick with my GC's on a 1.5" rear, 2" front drop.

ground controls are alright. they're not the best and they're certainly not the worst you could get.

if you get ground controls and tokico struts, you WILL have to modify the struts.

Any OEM/OEM replacement struts would not be able to handle the higher default ground control spring rates.

just curious... what's the main reason why you want to put coilovers on your corolla?

handling? looks of a lowered car? other?

I have the Tein SS coilovers....its a full kit in other words it comes with the springs and shocks and everything else you need to make them work. You can get them for about 1100. Come over to http://9thgencorolla.com/forums/index.php lots of info there for your ride.
Look in the Album area and you can see my car.The only better coilovers would be the JIC and those run abuot 1400-1600. I'm not too sure but it is in that range.

uhm.. not true about them not servicing your vehicle. if u modify a particular part of ur car, only that system is voided from the warranty. if ur put coilovers on ur car and u blow ur headgasket, if they dare try to tell u ur warranty if void because of them, go to court.

and as for ur coilovers. go with an aftermarket strut as well(and buy new mounts). u'll thank yourself for 3 reasons.#1 ease of installation, #2 it'll ride a whole lot better, #3 if something happens, u can always put the stocks back on.

I have a 2001 Corolla and I was thinking of getting the ground-controls using stock struts for now, just to give the car a nice look. To install them, do I need to modify the struts or anything?

thanks for the advise rollatuner110... I don't wanna go through all that trouble modifying the struts. I thought It'd be just a slip on with no cutting...hehe.

actually if you tap the tokicos the metal that is spot welded to the top of it with a screw driver or chisel it comes of rather easily and im running ground control with the tokicos on my 2000 corolla for five years and the shocks are not blown they can drives perfect. besides tokico has lifetime warranty i have two sets of tokico front shocks i never has to use
