    Webcam Trouble

I have an ebay webcam that i got for $13... i've been using it on my dad's dell w/ xp, and i just got a free gateway comp... and when i plug in the cam... it can't find a driver for it? what can i do? i can't find the driver on the internet, and dont even have the disk that came w/ the cam. i can find the cam program (amcap.exe) but not the driver to power the cam? my dad was saying the the processor is to low to use it... but can't i just toss a pentium 4 on this pentium 3? please answer quickly.

try searching for the brand or model number of your webcam.
if u have a no-name brand, you may be out of luck. usually, xp recognizes most of the brand name webcams out there. u can try to plug it in and go to add hardware and do it that way and let xp search for the driver.

p4 or p3 is not the issue.

what's the model number? (should be on the bottom or on the back).

If you want help it's not like every webcam is the exact same. You still need to post the info I asked about above ^^

try to see if u can adjust the camera or your software have adjustment for it.
you can also try to place your camera in a different angle. light should be at the back of the camera shining at you. if the light is behind you and shining at the camera, you will get dark results.
