It's the tie rod end, you should have gotten it out as one of the first steps, in fact it will probably be easier to bolt the hub back up so that it stays still for you. There are two tools you can use, one is a fork-like part with two large prongs that you drive between the tie rod end and the part it goes into. The other is a special puller.

Or, you could try putting the nut back on and hammering on it, but that's not really a good idea.

Thnks for the Help... I got the that whole assembly off and took it to a mechanic to get the bearings switched out. Well it seems like some how the wheel hub got messed up while my wheel bearing was bad so now im in the hunt for one.

It would be great if someone could tell me a place with really good deals on a front driver side wheel hub, cause im over this whole repair thing.

you can get the driver side hub maybe at a junk yard for about 30 bucks possibly? shouldn't be that expensive(if your brakes are still alright). the tierod end are maybe 10-20 dollars brand new for some aftermarket thing but you'll need an allignment after it's been changed.

I'd say your best source for this is going to be a junkyard. Autozone has the hub, bearing and seal for $110. I'm assuming it's a 98-02 Corolla, as Tokico hasn't released struts for 03+.

I've got a used hub.. but it needs a new bearing as well. junkyard cost ya prolly 40-50 for one. if u wanna give mine a shot (got rotor and caliper as well i believe), i'll sell it for like $10+ shipping.. like i said, u still gotta get a new bearing for this one as well..
