YES....I JOINED THIS FORUM FOR THIS EXACT CAR!

I am looking into getting a newer car...my 93 accord is showing her age. I was going to get a matrix xrs...still called a corolla outside of the U.S. because I wanted the extra space of the hatch, and I kinda have grown fond of their look.

I've been browesing trd but MORE so tte's web site and found the Corolla TS compressor model...*drool...two door...lighter?

    Dangit...left hand drive..*sigh oh well

It has the 2zz-fe engine (yamaha head) which I can tell you has TIGHT clearances...I've gotten to replace a head on a celica gt-s (also has the 2zz) for our body shop because it was warped .005", they ran it without coolant...course celica's are notorius for bubbles in coolant...have to be careful doing a coolant service on a celica. Toyota says anything more than .002" and replace the head... .002" awesome.

ANY WAY I've been looking into this car cause it's basically a two door matrix...or the matrix is a four door...wait..I'll get it right. J/k

So the main question is this, Does any one know the weight of this car? I know the engine specs (same as supercharged 2zz plus tte posts the numbers for this car, well with their supercharger...just have to convert)

I am also assuming it is not sold in U.S. so does anyone know if you could ship one here and it be legal (talking about the whole 12 cars needing to have been put in crash tests) since it is the same as a corolla/matrix? I could easily transfer the emissions to U.S. if it didn't pass there...but the crash tests are my main concern. Hmmm...it might not since it IS a two door and all our e12's here are four door...tests might not match. I don't think the U.S. has tested any two door models.

If this has already been discussed let me know I haven't found a post dealing with weight specs. I'm imagining the two door is a little bit lighter so MPG should be a little better. Curious really...and I can't find any sites that give that info...hince why I'm here.
