I'd punch her lights out for sure! My car is a 2002 and even though I've had it now for 2 months I can tell you, I'd have a FIT if someone hit my girl! As I've said before on this board, Karl Benz, father of the automobile once said that no more than 500 people will EVER learn to operate a car...Things like this prove it. I and the other 499 feel your pain. <grin>

    hey,

looking at the damage, i'm sure it could have been a lot worse. you might be able to get rid of the dent by massaging it out with your thumb. don't take off the fender though , because OMG they are hard to reinstall. i would go in under the splash guard at some point.

Today the expert went to my mechanic to see the damages and apparently the front bumper will remain unless any support is damaged. I´m glad the inssurance is going to pay for the wheel because they could say it was me who did the scratch, but i have the pics that prove it was the lady that pushed my car into the side walk so they will pay.

Also, in my Yaris (Vitz in Japan), the bumper was bad painted and in 4 years i had to re-paint it 3 times...So, this time, i hope the bumper remains the same...

Fender means bumper right? Sorry my english...

i guess they suck outside of the US. my insurance company has treated me VERY well, and my premium is low considering my age and record.

The harsh reality Falnfenix is that insurance companies share risk. That excellent service you receive when you make a claim in America has to be paid by someone else. And that usually means the bastards in the Third World like me. We're treated like crackheads all the time. My gf had a minor fender bender a few years ago. A guy rear ended her. By Jamaican law there is no question as to who is at fault. Whoever does the running in has to pay. YET it took a few days short of a YEAR to get payment for the damage. Some folks have all the luck. Seeing that I'm not in that gleaming number, I maintain. Insurance Companies are a herd of pigs!

I´m always joking with my girlfriend saying that i want to spend my retirement in Jamaica but i guess i´m about to change my mind.....Joking.....<br />
    <br />
In all countrys there are good and bad insurance companys. a few years ago i had an accident caused by a flat tire in the midle of the highway. The truck driver assumed the responsability (it was his tire) but 15 days later i receive a letter saying that it was my fault, that it was my tire.....I had to go to the police to get the paper where the driver said it was his fault.....You see, to this insurance company is not enought a driver declare himself has the responsible.....

Call it what you will. Those are the facts. If it comes off as being unkind to America and Americans then so be it. Go right ahead and call the NSA, FBI, CIA, IRS, INS and any other 3-letters you like...None of them will be interested in bombing Jamaica into the 21st Century...

Believe what you like. You would, however, be better served to ask your insurance company where they get the money to replace that new car someone just totalled outside the delivery area of the dealer where it was bought, and then consequently replaced in short order. If that sounds too tedious do a search on Yahoo for insurance risk sharing.

honestly, dude, i don't think your comments are really all that appropriate. that might just be me, but if you're so anti-US, i'm sure you can take it elsewhere. we're not against you, therefore you should show us the same respect.

I'm not being anti-US at all. I simply responded to someone who was in the US. If that person had been in the UK, China, Germany, or any other country that is deemed "first world" I would have answered accordingly. Why is it that everytime somebody says something that doesn't shine the US in a stunning light it means that they are anti-US? This is unfair. As a citizen of this world I have the right to air my views and my experiences. Freedom of speech DOES extend to the rest of the world too. You are the ones who have taken this down the wrong road. I was criticizing insurance company practices and you had to draw the average hard working American into it. I was in no way disrespectful to anyone who does not dictate the operations of insurance companies.

    corollarider19

As for my sources of information regarding the insurance issue, I am not sure what part of my statement you want proof of. Therefore feel free to peruse Yahoo and prod whichever aspect you are in doubt about.

If I have inadvertently offended anyone else then I'm sorry about the fact that you misunderstand my intentions. Sergix, let me take the oportunity to appologse to you on behalf of all of us who have brought this low-level of chatter to your post Your car has been damaged and all of us share in your grief.

I believe YOU drew the hard working American into it, by claiming that the costs fall on the "third world" country that you live in, in addition to bringing up your distaste for insurance companies when that hadnt even come into the conversation.

    Time to move on.

They get that money from the millions of people they are insuring, and never have the need to cash in.
