Are 1997 toyotas the same rear suspension as the 2000's. Reason is I need a new rear lateral arm, just the piece that bolts to the rear crossmember and they have them at the junk yard for cheap.

My brother had a 1989 Corolla wagon and he transplanted a rear end (disc brakes) from a 1992 JDM Levin. No problems whatsovever. I do so love Toyota's "if-it-ain't-broken-don't-fix-it" approach. Bad thing is the Gen7s have a live-axle rear end so these no longer fit....<sigh> Lucky thing I got discs on my rear end from the factory.
