they wont fit too. make sure the offset is like 42 or something. if you're looking for 17" maybe even 45 offset

wide rims with a big lip?

I'm looking for a set of new rims. I like the ones with huge lips. Anybody know of any kind that will fit an 02 corolla? Looking for the wide rims, huge lip theme.

Wider wheels won't fit on a 02 corolla w/out heavy body modifications. The widest you can do with your body is probably an x8 or x8.5. Although you can opt for a lower offset the lowest would probably be +30's or so. Lip size with these offsets would depend on the different type of disk you are running. Offsets in the +30's generally don't have HUGE lips anyways.

Even if you pull this off, it would be recommended that you cut your fenders and run a narrower (stretched) tire for clearance issues. For example if you are running 17x8.5 all the way around, you could run a 205/40 or 215/40 on your wheels.

In any case, the 02 Corolla body would probably need fender flares or a widebody to accomodate larger (than x8.5 inch) wheels and a lower offset.

EDIT: A safer route would probably be to run x8's all the way around on 205/40 tires.
Running a wider wheel would involve lowering the car even more for negative camber to clear. There are too many variables to consider when you want that VIP/flush/deep dished look. Regardless of this, it would be rather difficult (without widebody) to pull this off. You simply don't have the right platform. Good luck.

02 corolla? don't go with anything more than 7 inches wide. Our cars weren't designed for such big wheels. any wider it would cause the tires to hit the inner wall inside the wheel well.

btw pete. are you a friend of chas?
