    99 Corolla With 17s

I have a stock suspension 99 corolla, but everytime i have someone in the back or go over a decent speed bump the tire seems to hit the fender well. I have rolled the fenders, but i still can't determine the location of the scrubbing. Where could it be and what can i do about it? I bought some spring/coil spacers to stiffen the suspension. Thanks in advance.

I had/have the same problem. get 3 or 4 people, 2 sit in the back of the car and 2 sit somewhere near the trunk or in or w/e.
As they get in you check out how ur wheel moves in. Most likely its still touching the little "rim" of the well of ur fender in the back. I had the crazy thing done to my car which is shave the fenders. Plus ur offset isn't right probably just like my rims. Now on friday im finally gonna get my suspension put in and i'll see how it is.

Right now if i have 1 person sit in the back and i go on a corner hard it buttoms out and hits. 2 people its worse and well wit 3, it just shaves my tire a little....Not for long!

odd... had 17's n coilovers, slammed down, no rubbing.. offset could be off, could also be alignment. also, how wide are your 17's..

btw, most people i've met who had rubbing issues were stock height

yeah i used to have the same problem with my 17s. It got worse when I put in my kyb2s and eibach pro kit springs. But I just got my fenders rolled last week and everything is fine now. So I think rolling your fenders helps alot!

I think the main problem is ur suspensionm stock suspension on my corolla has 102k STOCK first set never been changed and till now it starts rubbing and I don't even have wheels.... I'd say change ur suspension, get tokico struts or KYB GR2's and a set of H techs or if u want to go lower try a set of S techs, I bet once u change that ur handling and rubbing will be way the hell better hehehe

rolling the fender will always help because it gives the tire a bit more space to work with when the compression is being made by the strut/spring on a bump or a dip

i used to have a corolla like 2 yrs ago. had 17x7 rims w/ a 42 offset. dropped 2'' w/ sprint springs. it rubbed like a bitch with the fenders rolled. i added tokico struts and it helped but still rubbed. depending on your drop and wheel offset, it will rub on the upper and inner part of the well(like where the rear doors are). u got to get pretty exteme to get rid of that if you are gonna run bigger wheels. i dont believe they make a large wheel with that high of an offset needed. good luck.

PS- i drove my car really hard and never had people in the back.

I have the same problem to...KYBs and Pro Springs set.....Its still rub in the back and then i shave off the inner fender and it stop rubbing the tires....thats where mean came from...Jack your car up and see where your tires are rubbing againist on.....You will be able to see the mark on your tires where it's rubbing on......
