I think I have changed my mindd about...

a future car purchase. My friend recently bought an 05 S2000. Today was the first day I was home and able to drive it. WOW! That is all I can really say. The car itself is amazing and it looks awesome. But I am honestly stunned with the reactions I got today. Every traffic light people would stare or ask questions. "What is that?", "Nice car". And I had to ask my friend if this was an everyday thing. He quickly said yes, and that it kind of worried him. But regardless I have never driven a car that got such a positive reaction. And the girls and ricers are equally as funny. The ricers would rev or try to race at every chance they got. We had about 6 groups of girls just hanging with us on the road talking to us. I have really had a change of heart and think I would take the S2000 over the WRX.

The S2000 probably looks much better, but you can fit three more chicks on the WRX! ;)

    Both nice cars,

I am still at a lose for words. I had only driven S2000's to and from the gas station and around the Honda parking lot. But driving it on an open road and just down the street was a complete difference. From what I have been told, many people have no clue what a WRX is either. But witht he gas the way it is now I might have to wait for a little bit longer to get the car I want.

S2000s are nic cars, and they are easily modded, but they start off on the low end power wise

True, but look at the torque numbers...162 ft torque.

With the upgraded comtech SC, those numbers are more than doubled torque wise. Until then, its NOT a quick car compared to other cars out there that start off with mid 200s hps.

I have two neighbors that have S2000s....one is mostly stock, and the other is 100% performance upgraded..currently in the 450hp range

I think I'd agree with Mike on this one. I'd much rather have the S 2000. Sure the WRX has the numbers to back it up, but everyone has one because of that. I'd rather thave (imo) a better looking car that I would want.

i have an s2k now, and my corolla still. so many people are going to s2000's that it is crazy. few in my town know much about the car so it gets a lot of stares and questions. if i drive with my top down i'll get questions and other positive remarks. this car also gets good gas mileage (25-30 if you drive it light) and its not low power at all. the cars not for dragging at all, and its a thrill to hug corners and feel its potential. the downside of the car is its clutch. it will go soon. it is 1000+ dollars to replace. i've loved every minute of driving this car, and can't quite justify modding it heavily.

How can people not know what an S2000 is? They've been around for a while and they are EVERYWHERE.

I was kinda shocked too, but trust me they don't. Same goes for a WRX, no one knows the potential of that car.

if you want to get a deal on the car, I would say buy when the gas is high so the cars are low. The price of gas goes up, nobody wants to drive, car lots starve, they are more apt to work with you now than any other time. Especially the gas guzzlers. I would take the STi anyday over the 2000 tho......unless the 2000 was the all carbon fiber one........oh yea.
