well i did mine in a almost silver/gunmetal paint color

it doesn't stick out and is protected against rust.

i also did my calipers in this color.

You don't really need any tools man, just a lug wrench to get your wheels off. Then cover what you don't want to get paint on with tape and newspaper and spray away. Use a high-temp paint. Auto parts places even have brake paint. Use black.

There is such a thing as caliper paint. Im not sure on the directions but you may have to bake them to cure the paint.

If you prefer paint over rust, then paint your calipers/drums and ignore the foolish 'rice' talk.
You don't need a caliper paint kit, read below how I did it:

    1. I cleaned my front calipers and rear rotors using a steel wire brush
that you can attach to a drill and just scrape off the rust with the
drill; much better than by hand (use face mask).

    2. Next, masked off areas you don't want to paint using masking (paper) tape and plastic shoping bags.

    3. Prime with gray spray paint.

    4. Once dry, painted with a chrome like shiny paint (not silver)

    5. Used DupliColor Metalcast paint as final coating (from automotive
section at Walmart, in a locked cabinet)

Metacast comes in different colors and it's somewhat transparent, so
the chrome paint under it shows throught. Makes the wheels look more
interesting than using generic caliper paint kits.
