New Corolla?

I'm sure if any one has seeked information on the next generation of corollas *when they will be out, any concept pics* you would have seen pics snapped of the new generation '07 Camry. Does any one know if Toyota has said anything about a new generation corolla? Not that it needs to be changed, just wondering since they are changing the Camry and the generations usually coincide.

well most likely as it has been heard is that the Corolla will come to an end, nobody knows when exactly.... BUT I have heard rumors around that Toyota is looking at the possibility of making a Corolla with a motor over 200 hp within the next 2 years (OR SO I'VE HEARD AROUND, DK FOR SURE) so I dk if I hear anything else about this rumor I'll let you guys know....

i heard toyota delay the Corolla a yr later so the new one is gonna be out in 2008 or sumthing... hehe toyota better make it 200hp or more heheh look at honduh w/ the new civic w/ more power...

hell yea dood and since the Corolla is well known for a 4 door lighweight car man it's the shiznit... with 200hp plus mods man this car will have mad potential if Toyota ever brings it out

i call it now no way.. toyota spends years and years in developing cars.. they will not make the rolla 200hp its taking away their base buyers by doing that.. the rolla is aimed at older gen people..

Its seems like its been a pattern of a 4 year overhaul. 93-97, 98-02.
So Im guessing we'll see the new Corolla model for 2007.

I'll be honest, I never expected to see the XRS out on the streets. It happened though. Perhaps, this is just a perhaps hypothetical situation, they will release a base model thats incredibly standard and boring and have and upgraded model, like the XRS is now, that would feature the 200 HP engine.

I wouldn't mind seeing that happen.

hell I wouldn't either man IF that happens screw bike and current rolla<<< they go for sale and go get the new rolla lol...... hell u got a good point too like I never actually thought of a 170 hp Corolla coming out like that was unheard of when people started seeing the XRS and the hit was like wow this car is got mad potential..... see like the Acura RSX type S is a little over 20 grand and it comes with 200 hp 6 spd and stuff so why can't the Corolla still keep their reliable CE,LE,S and then they could bump the XRS to over 200 hp for a bit more money than they charge now and offer a wider variety of performance parts down the road so then that way elder people or people that look for reliability have the CE,LE,S to buy and then the XRS can stay up for power wanting potential buyers so then they don't loose costumers on either end ... just me idea hehehe

Exactly. I wish I knew about the XRS when I bought my 03. I'm going to feel like a complete ass if 3 years from now they do have a 200 HP rolla.

They could make it like a TRD package. Just an idea though. Would be pretty hawt.

Corolla isnt aimed at older buyers, its just older buyers BUY corollas! Thats why they created Scion, because toyota wants the youth market and cant attract them in a corolla.

IMHO most young people A: Dont have the money to buy a new car and B: Arent smart enough to go Jap. You guys/gals on this board are enlightened , most young people like crappy ass dodges etc because they look good and are cheap..too bad they fall apart after a few years.

I think we'll see the discontinuation of the Corolla and a substitute in the Scion line waaaaay before we'll ever see a performance oriented Corolla like what you guys are talking about.

I've found that cars ALWAYS look better in real life than on paper. The concept drawing above is kinda cool..if you squint your eyes a bit. LOL. But seriously, this car is gonna look WICKED in a Euro-spec 3-door version. Well...not exactly Giorgeto Giugiaro's work...but here's my take...
