    led tail lights

does anybody know if a 1157 led bulb has the dual lighting ability of a standard bulb (running and brake lights)? i have an 01 prizm and want to get led's. also if i change the turn signals to led's will they act like a blown out bulb and double flash?

    thank you

Check here and vvt-i.net for threads w/ details about this topic. I know for lights that blink, ie turnsignals, you're going to need some extra equipment.

well i did a search and read all threads that apply and did not get any real answers. i have been looking at superbrightleds.com and they sell the 1157 with dual contact bayonet base. i sent them an e-mail but no replies yet. i quess that if it is a dual contact that it will work like a standard bulb. i dont want to get stuck with a restocking fee or have some lights led's and some standard. however i think i've determined that i will need up to 4 load resistors.

I have leds for the turn and brake signals. They all work just like regular bulbs, with the exception that they do seem slightly dimmer (not as bright) as the regular bulbs. However, I did have to buy two 3-ohm load equalizers from autolumination.com (<a href="http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm" target="_blank">http://autolumination.com/equalizers.htm</a>) to get rid of the rapid blinker problem.

i just heard back from superbrightleds.com and they said that the 1157 bulbs are dual intensity (all LEDs on dim for running lights or all on bright for brake/turn signals). thanks for filling me in on the load resistors. were did you put them?
